It is one effective way to make your heart healthy. Walking is beneficial to all, me i consider it as an exercise in my busy days. I walk for everyday of my life. It depends on the person if they will consider it, and it depends on how long you walk in a day.

Yes...it is definitely considered excercise. The general rule is to try and get 10,000 steps a day. I have a pedometer and track my steps whether waling outside or around the house. Ideally it helps to walk at a brisk pace...but increasing the level of activity even around the house still counts.
So my suggestion pick up a pedometer...track your steps....and keep walking. It works...I know from personal experience.

Walking is as much exercise as running and really better on your insides then running..Many articles have been created concerning the jolt that running can do to you inside..
45 minutes of walking is really good for you;)

I think it is, but I have been told a good hour of rather brisk walking, gets the heart pumping and the blood circulation going, I know someone who lost so much weight from just walking up every day but she was walking up and down rather steep hills...

Walking for how many kilometers could possibly be of great advantage, as this will help re-energize our body and would make our bones strong.
It is indeed very helpful. This is the very easy exercise that a person could do.
Usually, I wake up early in the morning, which is around 5:00 a.m. I walked for how many kilometers, but at the same time, I jogged so that I will perspire much.
Have a nice day and God speed!

I have also lost a lot of weight from walking. In the winter I go to an indoor walking track. I walk 3 miles in an hour. If you are walking briskly and building up a sweat and raising your heart rate then you are definitely exercising.
As far as I'm concerned, walking is the BEST exercise. Jogging puts pressure on other body parts. I knew this before my husband started jogging. I know the heavy thumping can be hard on the bones and now my husband has had such bad back problems he can't even WALK on a treadmill. His back does not bother him as long as he stays off the treadmill. When he tries it again his back acts up again. He uses the Elipse now instead.
The indoor walking track has been highly recommended by professionals for the fact that the climate and air quality never change. It is constant. So is the texture and slope (or lack thereof) of the floor.
I build up quite a sweat when I am walking and have lost 35 pounds.

This all depends. If you do absolutely nothing and totally out of shape then walking might be strenuous.
Throughout the day while working I walk and jog at least 4 miles. So a 4 mile walk is not going to do much for me other than burn some calories. So I do not call it exercise.
What you should do is find out how many calories it takes to walk a mile. Then walk how many miles you need to in order to achieve your goal. Then add miles as needed. You can also increase the intensity if you do not have enough time, want to break the monotony or walking has become too easy.

I've never heard that before. Just the opposite, in fact. Walking is good for you. Try to walk at least 30 minutes a day, however, if you want to lose weight, you should walk more than that. Try at least 45 minutes of brisk walking a day. It should end up being about 2 miles if you are at the right intensity.

Hi... i think brisk walking could be considered as a form of exercise since it is cardiovascular activity. walking leisurely will be better than not exercising at all. i love to walk. it helps me burn the calories i took in and saves me money...LOL...as long as it is not so sweltering hot...

Of course walking is an exercise. Any physical activity burns calories and walking is a great one. Start small and walk whenever you can or leave the car behind on short trips and walk instead.

I was frequently told that brisk walk is a form of good exercise. Brisk walk for twenty minutes could promote our blood circulation so as to keep our body healthy. It is good to have such exercise at least four times a week. If we want to get rid of the extra fat of our body we ought to increase the time of exercise. So it is considered better to take half an hour or 40 minutes for the brisk walk so as just nice for us to keep the body fit.
