What's the last piece of electronics you wish you hadn't bought?

What's the last piece of electronics that you bought, that you consider a waste of money? What did you buy that you could have easily lived without?
About a year ago, we purchased an mp3 player. Actually it was a combo CD-player/radio/mp3 player. And, just a few months later we got a used computer that already had mp3 technology installed on it. And the first purchase seemed like such a waste of money. Sometimes I'm not sure why we even bother trying to keep up with the latest trends, it's so expensive. And, we end up not using any of the new stuff anyway. I don't think we've used our mp3 player once in an entire year. No need really, the computer plays them for us.
Now, I am wishing we had saved the money and donated it for food or gifts for a needy family last Christmas. There are so many people at holiday times that aren't interested in the latest technology. Some are just interested in surviving and getting their next meal.
And, when I hear about them, I feel so ashamed that I would be wasteful and buy stuff that I really don't need, and could easily live without, when I could be helping others with the same money.

Way way back in the day, I got this one thing called a virtual boy...
Its a miracle my eyesight did not degenerate like I read it had done to other people. Yea its irritating to look at and I do recall getting headaches and on occasion being unable to see the color red for about an hour.
Other than that, most electronics I use, even some from 20 years ago.

You have got to share with me, your secret of keeping electronics for so long. Our electronics keep breaking. It doesn't help that our 3 1/2 year old keeps breaking them. It could just be a natural occurrence though! LOL!

I don't know if this counts as electronics or not.I recently bought a photo/design editor called Paint Shop Pro.I got it home and looked at it.Paint Shop didn't do anything that my other photo editor didn't already do.
I was not able to return it or exchange it bcse I had registered it on my computer. The software can't be registered more than once.

My exercycle - i hardly use it because I get a sore bottom everytime I do and have not been on it for quite sometime. Most definitely a waste of money and space!

We just took ours out of the spare room today and within fifteen minutes it went back into the room. It's tough using those things. I'm not sure why. Sometimes I think it is a waste of money. I don't use it nearly as much as I should.

I'm not really sure what my answer should be. I don't have the inclination or the money to even attempt to keep up with technology trends. Even if I could, I always think, in two years, this thing is going to have a better model for sale and it will be obselete. When I really think about it, I guess it would be a computer mouse. I wasn't happy with the old one, so I bought a better one that was more expensive. But I really could have stayed with the old mouse and saved the money, even though the new one made it easier on my hands.

The last thing we bought was a gps for in the car. its one that you could mount in your car and then stick in your purse when you get out of the car and take it with you. we had really been wanting one so we gave in and got it, but now a few months later we are behind on our bills and we could really use that money to catch up.
