How do you deal with a bad day?

There are some days that I shouldn't even bother to get out of bed. From the moment I open my eyes to the time I can finally go back to sleep, things go wrong. Maybe the stars are aligned against me. Not sure what causes days like that. But, on those days, if it can go wrong, then it does. On days like that, I just want to hide my head under a pillow and cry. Usually, those are the days that I also get a double helping of pain with a migraine. And, then that makes coping with my bad day even harder, so I have to stay in bed. Maybe my bad days are caused by my migraines. I don't know. So, that's how I deal with a bad day, I just climb back into bed and stop dealing with it. Do you ever have days like that? How do you deal with them? Do you climb back into bed? Do you call a friend? What do you do to put the brakes on your bad day?

It happens, though not in recent memory. A few and several years back yea definitely. It happened a good number of times. Usually I would just rest in bed and just get some sleep. I noticed that is usually a good remedy to get over it. The pain heals with time too, so don't let the bad day weigh you down too much. In other cases physical activities or hobbies can help get over a bad day, its typically effective. Especially if its something you really want to put an effort too. If anything, long range projects/hobbies can give you the me-time you need and the focus on something else to get over thinking about the bad days.

If it is caused by a headache or sickness--- then I too find myself back in bed or at least on the couch. If it’s just a bad day--- then I try to stay upbeat and positive- surround myself with happy people- or if I’m bringing them down- I stay home and hide. Music usually makes me feel better—or movies- so I might lay around watching movies—or crank the happy- fast songs and sing and dance!

If I have the time, I crawl back into bed. If not, I usually call someone and try to meet for lunch or just talk for a while. We have been having quite a few of them lately. It seems like we get up in the morning just to start solving problem after problem. It is crazy, I am ready to hide and not answer the phone or door.

I do, I stay in bed most of the day, eat when I want to eat and watch tv and then fall off to sleep again.Luckily I can do this now with my son at school but I still have to get up in the mornings to help him get ready and out the door before I can come back home and lie down. I ignore all phone calls and knocks on the front door and i don't surf online.

i just don't talk a lot, i prefer to keep my mouth shut because i rather deal with my bad day alone and not to involve anyone..

I like to do a few things. First I like to call a friend and vent. It's always nice to talk to someone who's always on your side and will feel your pain. Then I like to have a nice hot bubble bath with some nice music. Sounds kinda cheesy but it really does relax you and make you feel better.

maybe you need to find solution first to your migraine. consulting a doctor maybe the best way. And alawsy be positive. start your day with a prayer and a smile. just think that everything will be fine. increase your patience. it is not always a bad day for the rest of your life unless ypu don't do anything to solve it. they always say that "mind over matters". don't think your sad or else you'll be very sad. be optimistic. live life to the fullest and don't waste your time at your bed. there are so many good things on earth to be discovered. and a life may be too short to enjoy it. be happy!

This happens some times. Some times we like to sleep more than usual. The days we consider good or bad according to the rhings that happens. Let the things happen on their way Let us resist all the problems and do our duty well

I usually just play with my son, and take a nap with him. He normally doesn't sleep with me, but when I tell him I don't feel good, he will crawl right into bed with me, and pat my hair and tell me he loves me. He really is sweet. I can't sleep real well with him in bed, because I'm always afraid that he is going to fall off the bed or something, but it's nice to have my sweet little boy there and to watch him sleep. It usually makes me feel better.

Everyone has bad days; it's perfectly normal. I used to deal with bad days with very poor coping skills, i.e., I would sleep and/or eat too much. Now, I get up and get my day going by exercising, which releases endorphins (makes you feel better) and then I write in my gratitude journal to remind me of all the things I have to be grateful for. I also enjoy doing things for other people which makes me feel useful and I will do something nice for myself too. Also, connecting with friends is a great way of snapping out of a bad day.

Well bad day! Oh I am really good at putting a break to it. If I were out and I realized I have a bad day, I would go home earlier and call it a day. I would sleep extremely early and start a brand new day tomorrow. I don't want to mess my emotions thinking about how bad the day was. So I would just sleep, forget about it and move on.

I'm sure that we all have days like that and I guess you just have to take the good with the bad,I always think that my situation is bad until I hear about someone else's.

Bad day is not decided before the day ends. Yesterday in my business centre there were no customers till afternoon and between after noon and late evening, the business was not much. Before I was about the pull down the shutters, I had two customers who made cash transaction sufficient for 2 days of turnover. So the day is not over till you get into sleep. Luck can come in any time during the day.

I am sorry to hear that you sometimes suffer from migraines. It is really a nuisance to have a migraines. Sometimes I also have a headache if I don't sleep well or have a cold. This seems to be always the problem. I hate headache, which makes me feel so awful. The best way for me to kill headache is to take a capsule once I find it. Then it will be just a few hours before it is completely gone. Also if possible it would be better for me to sleep for a couple of hours to feel better. If I don't take the capsule immediately after I discover my headache, it will last a long time like the whole day.

I have had many bad days in my life. I have dealt with them in 2 different ways. The easiest way is to be down, sad, angry, frustrated whatever but that seems to only intensify the BAD day. The other way is to try to dismiss having the bad day by focusing on the good things of the day, this I know is hard. I try to find the good in my life and the things that I am thankful for and its makes things a bit easier. Sometimes I even try and laugh at the disaster my day is. this does not mean that my day will run any smoother it just means that whatever happens to me it is my reaction to it that matters.

hi beautyqueen, I know how it feels. I'm an introvert person so i never share my burden to others even to my best buddy. When bad things happen to me, i usually get trapped in my own negative thought that makes me feel miserable and being left alone when the truth is it is me who pull myself away from others. Most people will make distance when i'm at this state. I know it's not the migraine that creates your bad day.Putting a smile on my face is first thing that i do when bad day meets me, then i stop fooling around and avoiding negative thought reach my mind. Each time i wake up in the morning i say to myself "today is going to be brighter than yesterday, i won't ruin it". guess what, i'm a better person now. Have a great day :).
