Introducing...

My mother is the one who got me interested in mylot - which was actually some time ago. She created a post a few weeks ago when I started to get active again, in which she introduced me, and encouraged people who were interested to add me. Since I believe in karma, it is time for me to return the favor! My mother is an amazing person - she was a single mother of four children, two twin boys, and two girls (I am the eldest). She is from New England, married to a man from the Netherlands, works for hospice as a home care provider, and is a big beautiful woman. Those are just a few of the facts about my mom! I encourage anybody who is a friend of mine to consider adding my mother! If you enjoy reading the things I write here, you'll enjoy what she has to say also. And, for those of you who are "God-fearing", my mother is a Christian who isn't as liberal as I am, so there is no need to fear her (as some fear me and my "lifestyle"). Love ya, MOM! Thanks friends who check her profile out (at): http://www.mylot.com/elusivebutterfly I almost forgot I can't copy and paste! BUT...I'm finally almost over the first fifth of the 500 hurdle - I'm currently at like 72 or something, so I'm psyched about that! MYLOT MILESTONES BABY! Peace! All responses welcome!

Your mom does sound amazing! My mother was a single mom of three as well. She says my brother and I were like twins being 18 months apart - but since my sister is ten years older - she had a build in helper! And that she is a caretaker for her profession as well speaks volumes about what an amazing person she must be. Congratualations about almost making it to a hundred! I just recently did that. I joined months ago but didn't really start getting addicted until three weeks ago. I think of it like a huge dinner party with a huge table full of interesting international guests. We can start conversations - and change seats and participate in other conversations. Anyway, welcome and have fun. Have a fortuitous day!

Love your take on MyLot. I do enjoy the people here. It isn't the money that keeps me coming back.

Hi there - thanks for the comment. My mother is indeed amazing, and it sounds like your mother is similarly amazing! It is good that she had a built in helper - because it is really hard to raise babies and kids by yourself! Even though I was close in age to my brothers and sister, I was still my mom's helper, and was VERY maternal. This has carried over into my adulthood - I have a lot of mother-like qualities! I, too, feel like this is a huge dinner party, or party, where people get together (albeit while sitting in front of a computer screen, typing, doing whatever it is they do when they are online). This is more fun than most dinner parties or dinners I've been to, that is for sure! I really enjoy talking to people such as you on here, because my horizons are expanded and my mind is more open. I learn something NEW everyday here! Peace, and take care of yourself!

Actually its the other way around....I have your mom as one of my friends and she was praising you and to add as a friend...so figured since she's such a nice person, you must be too...And I just love your candid viewpoints as you stated in your other discussion..I'm Me...I guess I can be considered in the same class as you as I openly voice my opinions...gee,what thanks did I get--I was attacked in one of my discussions and felt like throwing my computer out the window--Oh, well, guess the world doesn't like us folk who speaks our minds..right? Tough S**t

Pyewacket, people should never be afraid to speak what is on their minds. Keep up the good work.

Hi Pye - wasn't it nice of my mother to comment before I did? Yeah, I thought so! I'm glad you like what I have to say, it is refreshing to know that people appreciate honesty and openness! Of course, I think it is fairly easy to do...online moreso than in real life, though I'm not afraid to speak my mind in real life either! I'm glad that you are the same way when it comes to voicing your opinions! I'm sorry to hear that you were attacked in a particular discussion on this site! That is really unfortunate! I'd stand up for you, for sure! You should always stand up for your beliefs, and if you need somebody to back you up, let me know. Being attacked is not right, especially not when you are having an important conversation! Take care of yourself, and I look forward to talking to you some more!

Thank you ElusiveButterfly ((hugs)) And yes, celestialceece that was wonderful of your mom to answer first...Oh I tend to be just as outspoken in "real" life, that is apart from cyberworld as well....One person I admire as she is very candid, outspoken and doesn't give a sh*t is Whoopi Goldberg...now unfortunately she got a lot of flack from her comment she made about Michael Vick and that dog-fighting is a part of the southern culture and more "accepted" there...Just as bullfighting is an acceptable "sport" in latin american countries...BUT she wasn't condoning dog fighting...I do happen to know that she is a die-hard animal rights activist...so people really twisted what she meant....Just as people will often twist what I say...

Hi Ravenladyj. I went to check to make sure you were in my list and found that I had to send you a request. I too thought that you were in my list. A MyLot glitch perhaps? I have had to readd other people lately. Not sure what is up with that.

Hi! I love your description of your mother, yaya. I'm pretty sure I already have her added as a friend but I will check on that. MYLOT MILESTONES! Oh yeah! I'm almost to 500 posts, it's such a painful journey. I wish I could hire somebody to get me up to 500 then take over again. sheesh

The 500 post thing didn't go into effect right away on MyLot. After there were more than a few members cheating for points, it was implemented. Unfortunately there is still a cheater or two popping up here and there.

Hey...I had no idea that there were cheaters on this site! How is it possible? Did they do it via the cut, copy, and paste - and that is why you can't do that until you've reached 500 posts? All I can say is that I'm close to one hundred, once I'm done with that I'll be a fifth of the way finished! that's exciting for me!

Hi acuityplague! You're absolutely right that it is a painful journey to get to 500 posts! I'm up to eighty something at this point, and I've been going steadily up these past few days. But I've spent so much time on the computer that my back and butt hurt seriously bad! If I'm going to spend this much time online, I have to invest in a better chair. Maybe once I reach 500 posts, I will reward myself by going to staples and buying a chair fit for an executive! Ohhhh, I'd be willing to create posts for you for pay! Hahaa...or I'll type for you for ten dollars an hour! Though, I guess that would defeat the purpose, because you'd be spending more than you made trying to get to that number! Oh well! Have a good weekend and take care!

Terry, I have always enjoyed seeing you around the "lot". Glad to have such good friends here. I do try to hang out whenever I get the opportunity. Now that the glorious days of summer are winding to an end, I probably will be here more often.

Hi there - thanks for your nice comments about my mother. I'm having a hard time making sense right now with regards to commenting because I was up all night last night and now I'm exhausted! Oh yeah, I remember now...my mother said something about spending more time on mylot seeing as how summer ended! The same is true for me!

Hi Terry! You're certainly right about my mother being back at work - she doesn't have much time to be online doing mylot. But when she has free time, I know for a fact that she spends a good amount of it online working on this site and some others! Thanks for the welcome. I have been enjoying the exchanges here very much! I look forward to reading your work as well!

I don't know I will have to really give it some thought about adding her, she maybe a troublemaker so I will have to think about it. :oP Ok I was going to leave it just like that and then I thought many will not know I am joking. So I have to say I proudly have your Momma on my list of friends already. She is one of my wonderful great friends that brings a smile to my face every time I see she has posted. I deeply recommend her. She is one fantastic lady.

"Sunshine, on my shoulder, makes me happy!" You're a really "bright" and "light" person. I think your handle/username fits your personality perfect. Has anyone ever mentioned that to you? My mother seems to have a lot of respect for you as well...thanks for making her smile today with your comment! My mom is a very special person. I'm glad she introduced us to one another! My mom is fantastic, and so are you!

Your mom certainly sounds like an amazing person indeed, and she sure raised a nice daughter so I hope she'll accept me as a friend. If someone fears you or your lifestyle that's THEIR problem, not yours. We liberals shouldn't be feared, it is we that care more about the common person and the good of our world. What's to fear in that??? Anyway, I see you're at 75 as I write this and you'll find that once you hit the first 100 the next comes in less than half the time and I'm sure it goes on that way. I'm anxious to reach 500 also. Annie

I'm happy and proud to have a mother/daughter duo in my friends list! I've seen on myLot that many of my friends here have the same relationships that I've always enjoyed with both my mom and my daughter. When my daughter gets a computer I'll get her on myLot; my mom's 90 and while I stay with her at her home I'll never get her on a computer...she's still adjusting to the TV remote and cordless, touchtone phone! In soviet progamer-land, the milestones become a blur. I know you and Celeste want to get up to the high end posts but just be cautious and take it the best you can. In short, don't be me ;p

Your mom is one of the first people I've put in a friends request for, and she's one of those that I always check for to see if she's posted anything. I always enjoy her posts, and yours too! I can't respond to all my friends posts right now, because I'm involved in taking care of a hospice patient too, so I guess I've got something else in common with your mom.

oh wow! Your mom was the one who got you interested in mylot? That's awesome! Sometimes during the weekend when I just feel like lazing around the house, i'll spend my time on mylot. My mom is puzzled why I spend a lot of time on mylot and asks me to do something else instead of being on my computer haha. say hi to your mom! :)

Yes indeed, my mom introduced me to this site, and gather, and a bunch of other sites. I have introduced her to various websites too, but unfortunately, none of them are as cool or rewarding (literally, figuratively, spiritually) as this site and gather. My family looks at me like I'm a strange one because I'm online all of the time, but you know what? I don't care! And they don't seem to care either because I think they understand that I'm either working or earning money, etc!

Hello there - I'm glad that you are fond of my mother, because, as you can tell, I have a lot of love and respect for! I'm glad to hear that other people have similar relationships with their mother. I realize that I am lucky - my siblings don't even have the same type of closeness with my mother as I do. Take care of yourself Pattie - I am falling asleep behind the computer screen right now because I didn't get any sleep last night! Oy!
