I recently posted a site called Angel Food Ministries. Money has been really tight lately so we bought some food from them last month.
Well we have had their popcorn chicken and today we had their fried chicken (comes ready to cook). Both were really good. I LOVED the popcorn chicken!! I am going to buy from them again this month. I am even going to get two of their specials. They have (at least in my area) 10 lbs of popcorn chicken for $15 and 4 lbs of strip steaks for $18! I can actually afford to feed my family good food by buying from them!
I have several other forms of ready to cook chicken from them that I am looking forward to trying. Tomorrow we will be eating a turkey pot roast I got from them.

Here is the website that I use to find the dates and the areas that they will be at. If you go under the state that you live in, it will give you a list of sites that participate.

Thoes are great prices. I have never actualy heard of them either. I would love to find a place that the prices are still somewhat under control. It is a struggle to feed our family and we only have 2 kids. Prices are going higher and higher.

I looked at the website and the location is far away from us. But I am so glad it is there.
I do go to church each sunday and we have a food program. One program they use id to give food to thoes who need it and they work off a bit of it with service. The other program is for all who want to use it weather they need it or not. We voulenteer to can and process food, a lot of which we send to places that are in need, and after we have done our voulenteer work we can but what ever we want for our selves. It is mostly grains and dried goods we have bought so far.

I don't know how close you are to the host site they have listed for Utah.
Do you belong to a church? If so, are there a lot of people in your area that would be helped by Angel Food? If so, why not ask your church to look into it? They might want to become a host site.
I know what you mean about money. We make around $45k and are a family of 5. Our rent alone is $1000 a month.

I think Angel Food Ministries is in my area, but so is one called Prairie Land Food. I think I have even heard of a third one fairly close. I love the power of group buying, and doing good as well. It is nice to have some abundance in your life, or to at least have sufficient. Enjoy your turkey pot roast. I have a pretty full freezer thanks to programs like this.

I have heard of Angel Food Ministries, I had not heard from anyone who had actually eaten any of the meat. This is fantastic. My son in law has always talked about trying their meats. I can't wait to tell him that I heard something positive about it. I think it is available in my area too, I may check into it at as well. Lord knows we can all use a break in the price of groceries, especially with gas prices always on the rise.

I haven't tried the beef yet as I haven't gotten any yet (will have some at the end of the month) but the chicken is really good!!
We know a family that has 12 people and they buy from Angel Foods every month. It is the only way they can afford to feed their family. The mother told me her sister always goes in on the steak deals. They aren't broke so I am pretty sure that the steaks are decent at least.

I have been thinking about buying from them and I have looked at the food a few times, but I have never done it. As a family that eats chicken a lot,I guess the next time they have it , I will buy it. Thanks for the reminder to look at this months menu.

I know, isn't it great! I buy from them quite frequently. I missed the pay date this month, but I am going to try for next month. The chicken is always good, I have gotten the steaks once and wasn't impressed with them. I really enjoy doing it this way, it saves a trip to the grocery store and it is a really good deal. When they buy in bulk it helps to cut down the cost. I have several churches in my area that offer this deal, and I have been using it on and off for about a year now.

I am glad to hear about the chicken cause I really like it. I don't ever buy steaks cause we can't afford them. If they are at least decent it will be a step up from not having them ever. Here's hoping.
Our due date is next Monday so we are going on Friday to place our order.

I can't remember where I heard about it, but it is a great program. My son loves it when they have the barbecued boneless wings! I swear he can eat the whole bag himself. It is also nice that you can easily get a couple of meals out of each bag of chicken.

I have heard of them and know the prices are not bad at all. I know a few people that get food from them and say that it is really good. They have no income limit and it is open to anyone. That is what is really nice.

I agree, most of the food programs in my area are for low income. This one is nice because you don't have to do it every month, but if there is something you really like that they have for that month you can buy more than one.

We have been buying from Angelfood ministries for about 6 months now. Everything we have had has been very good. It is a great way to stretch your grocery budget. We have bought alot of their specials and have liked them all. Spread the words to your family and friends and help this minstry grow.
