Changing my MOS

I want to change my MOS. I've already emailed my recruiter to ask about it, but I don't expect a reply for another week or two, at least. My current MOS is 63B, which is a critical MOS. I want to change to 25B, which is not a critical MOS. I know that it's just about impossible to change from a critical MOS, but technically I'm not even qualified, since I have to have a driver's license, which I don't have yet. I enlisted in July, and leave for Basic in June (I'm split-op). I won't go to AIT for another year after that. Under these circumstances, would it be possible for me to change? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

Considering that you have enlisted completely and are drilling you may be locked into that MOS. If it's anything like the Air Force Reserves it's really up to the higher ups at this point. Since you haven't done your initial training they may let you out of it and switch you but you better make yourself look good. If they don't like you they will not cut you a break and it depends on what positions they need to fill.

I was in the national guard for eight years and nothing is impossible. why were you giving this MOS in the first place if you were not technically qualified.
