My 21 year old daughter is being induced today! This will be my first grandchild and her name will be Sophia Rachel. I will be at the hospital with her today or until she has Sophia. I have already crocheted Sophia booties, cap, 2 baby afagans. And I plan on crocheting more today while I await her arrival. My daughter called her grandma's, Monga when she was younger, so this is what I want to be called. So this is discussion is open for are you a grandparent? If so, how many? What are their names? What are you called? Did you make anything for your grandchild or grandchildren? Please share! Looking forward to seeing your responses.

Not a grandparent yet! Still have a few years to go! You must be incredibly excited! I wish you and your daughter a quick and healthy birth of your first grandchild. Welcome Sophia! What a beautiful name!

Thank you very much! Yes, I am excited, but I tend to be low key about it! I've walked with my daughter for the last month so I hope she has an easy delivery. I will post another discussion about her soon.

No, I am not a grandparent and hope not to be one too soon:) MY oldest is 18 and I keep telling him that I don't want to be a grandma yet!
I have been trying to figure out what I want my grandchildren to call me. My mother in law is grandma bennett, so I definitely don't want to be called grandma bennett!! I called my grandma nana, but I don't know if I want to be a nana either. I am heading towards gram or grammy, but as I said, I should have a long time to think about it.
Monga is cute.
I love the name Sophia Rachel~ it is so beautiful. Good luck to your daughter during her delivery. Let us know all the details once she is born.

Thank you for responding. Sophia Rachel came into this world at 12:29 AM weighing 7 lbs and 21 inches long. My daughters water was broke at 12 noon yesterday. She had some pretty intense contractions for about 4 hours, that she could feel even though she had an epidural. But Sophia came out with about 6 sets of 3 pushes without a problem.

I'm not a grandma or a mother even, but I wanted to congratulate you! I hope everything goes well for mother and baby. I call my one living grandmother Nana. That's all I could say when I was a small child. Grandma just didn't come out right. : )

Congratulations to your daughter. Sophia Rachel is a lovely name. I hope her birth is quick, easy and not too painful. It sounds like you have knitted your little grand daughter some beautiful things.
My mum has six grand children. Two from me and two from me and four from my sister.

My situation is also little bit same. My daughter has ben married during the month of May 2007. Sheis a good girl. She is innocent. Her husband is a pharmacist in saudi arbia. I wanted to tell him the importance of namaz. when thery are not near and far away it becomes dificult for any body to complete Namaz. IN case if u cannot perform alongwith the other fellows because the imam was at hyderabad.

Wow, I just skimmed over all the responses and was shocked that none of them are grandmas!!! I AM a GRANDMA!!! I LOVE being grandma. I have two beautiful grandsons.
Micah Leon is 3 and 1/2. Evan Joseph is going to be 2 in October. They are my pride and joys. I don't get to see them much because I live in North Carolina and they live in Encinitas Calfornia. BUT. . . One week from tomorrow, I will be there!!! I get to go see them for almost a whole week. I cannot wait!
When my daughter in law was expecting Micah, I made him a quilt. It was my first ever quilt and rather than it being a 'baby' quilt, I made it twin size for when he was older so he could use it for a long time. It's got the big red dog, what's his name?? Goodness, I forgot for some reason. Anyway, it's cute and he uses it on his big boy bed now.
I didn't make Evan's quilt until he was already born and gave it to him for his 1st birthday. It is also twin bed size. It's got zoo animals no it with dark blue background and light blue strips between the squares.
I love these boys more than life itself. They are so very precious.
So, tell me all about the birth of Sophia Rachel!! I was there for Micah's birth, but not Evan's. It's pretty special that you got to be there for her!!
Tell me how it all went~!
