Have you started to think about what you want for Christmas?

I'm going right along with the media and I'm starting to think about Christmas in September! ha ha!
My son always wants to get me gifts that will "give me something fun to do"...lol....he's always wanting to buy me games and things along those lines. This year I'm cutting him off at the pass so to speak and I'm going to start talking about something that I really need and can't do without and hopefully he will get it! My problem is that there is really nothing that falls into that category so I'm going to have to do some very hard and long thinking about this.
When I think of Christmas I never think about what I want but the bigger problem of course is what to get everyone else.
Have you made your Christmas list out yet? Have you started giving hints to your loved ones? How do you go about getting what you want for Christmas?

When it comes to gifts for myself I like to start thinking about it early to give my kids time to find what I want so they don't have to be running around for my gift during Christmas rush!

I make sure to thank people profusely for the gifts that I like best...in hopes of an encore of that gift.
Last year one of the things I liked best was a gift certificate to ebooks.com. I love ebooks, the same goes for iTunes.
I really NEED little else.

You sound a lot like me! There is more that I want than what I need! I especially like gift certificates that way I can get exactly what I want.

Bah.
I keep reiterating to everyone who posts about christmas that part of the spirit of Christmas (To ME anyway) is to celebrate it after Thanksgiving. To have that one month of anticipation and then be so sad that its over already.
I love the movies and I love the decorations. I do not like the gift giving list making part and if I had my way, that part would be done away with!

My sister-n-law wants lists. My husband wants to observe me and figure something out (if I give him hints, he hates it, he won't buy something from a hint). My brothers will get me what they can afford and it's always useful.
The best Christmas present I ever got from my husband, besides a diamond, is the wonderful rocking chair in the next room. Money is very tight in my family, so we get useful items mostly, towels, anti-freeze, gloves, socks, etc. You get the idea.

I've thought about what I want to give for Christmas and what I'll do out of kindness around that time. I haven't really thought of what I want for Christmas. It doesn't seem to matter, at least not that much. Either that, or I really don't want anything. I wonder if its kind of dry that I'm thinking of and shopping for others Christmas gifts, yet not really thinking about anything I'd want.

Too early! My family doesn't really worry about it. We exchange Christmas greetings etc. but never get into the spirit of things.
We're not media-following sheep :P
Still, I give gifts to my friends and stuff... probably not this year. As a University student, I'm pretty much broke :P

Far far too early to think about Christmas, I still have my holiday yet! I never think about Christmas or what I want for Christmas until mid November! It comes far too early and far too quickly, we all wish our lives away. I never know what I want for Christmas anyhow so makes no difference!

I have to just out right list what I want so hubby then has something to pick and choose from to get me, *sigh*
I never have to do this with my girls, they never ask and they always hit it on the head with something I have been wanting.
But Hubby is who he is and I love him all the same, so I make my list every year and I wait to see what I get, LOL.

It seems when I make out my Christmas list for myself it always turns out to be for the house or the whole family. As far as buying for everyone else I am a last minute shopper and have always found that it is easy to find something everyone likes.

I no longer have any specific desires when it comes to Christmas, ctry. I just am thankful to be here to see another one, and don't do much of anything. I always buy gifts for my girls and one or two friends. I have enough grandkids that I just do each of them on their birthdays. Christmas ceased to be about gifts to me quite a few years ago. I'm inclined to agree with my great-uncle who raised me. He never gave Christmas gifts because he didn't believe in it. He held the philosophy that if you saw something that you wanted to give someone, there is no need to wait for a special occasion-just give it to them! I try to live by that philosophy now, but old habits die hard.

Ive already had some ideas of things i would like family members to buy me... because i really cant be bothered to buy them myself... and if i wait a few months then i can get it for christmas!!! im win win and they are win win! i dont have to get it myself, they dont have to go through the hassle of thinking "well will he like what ive got him?"

Around October/November time I start to look for presents. The reason being that December is such a rush because everyone is out buying presents. I hate shopping in December because all the shops are busy. Therefore the only Christmas shopping I do in December is buying presents online.

No I don't even think about Christmas and Hanukkah until the Friday after Thanksgiving. That is my tradition.Ever since I got a big allowance in my teens, it was hard to find things to put on my list. And my birthday is in the first part of January so I usually had to try to make two lists. This year will be hard.

Nope, have not even thought of Christmas and or shopping. If I mention the word shopping my husband runs away LOL
I have just gotten through lots of September birthdays, my Moms 60th included and now I need to save for christmas time and for my nieces and nephews, inlaws etc. I have a lot to shop for this time round!

Actually, I have told the entire family some of the things that I want for Christmas and I hope they are listening. My husband always does a great job of buying gifts but I am hoping that he buys me new diamond earrings this year and I want to go on a cruise for our anniversary.
