Do you check the time online or use a clock?

For some reason we don't have a clock in our house anymore. Awhile back we went through the terrible twos with our little kid and most of the good clocks got broken during her tantrums. She doesn't remember any of it! And, for some reason, I haven't gotten around to buying a new clock. For the most part, I'm worried that she'll have another tantrum and the new clock will end up broken in the trash as well. So, now when I want to know what time it is, I have to click on my computer screen and check the little computer clock. Since my computer is on most of the time, it's not a real hassle. But, sometimes when my computer is unplugged, I will check local news as they always have a small time indicator at the bottom of the screen. Don't ask me why I don't use a watch to check the time. Last year, my spouse got me a watch for my birthday and it has since become one of her play-toys. Just easier to let her have it than to argue. Anyway, how do you check the time? Do you look at your watch or clock? Do you use the little computer clock? Or, do you just make an educated guess?

Hello beauty queen. I have two wall clocks in my apartment, one in the living-room and the other in the bedroom. Also I have an alarm clock on my bed next to my pillow. I have a wrist watch to tell me time when I go to work in the office. Of course my Nokia helps tell me time too. When I am working at my computer, I love to just watch the time on the computer. I am interested in this topic and I have just taken a picture of one of my wall clocks in the bedroom to show you. hehe. Please enjoy. Thanks.

Thank you for saying so. Yes, I am always fascinated how well society can live with or without actual clocks. Sometimes when my cellular phone is powered up, I will use that to tell time. It's going to be so funny trying to teach my daughter how to tell time. When I was a kid, we learned the old fashioned way with a clock on the wall. She will most likely learn to read a digital clock (or the one on the computer) first! How funny is that? Thanks for dropping by the chat. Always nice to get your opinion on a subject. Be well. And have a great day (or evening?). It's early AM here.

I still have clocks in my house and I would look at them for the time. I don't wear a watch anymore though, so if I am going out and want to know the time, either I would sneak at other people's watches or take out my phone to look at the time. I used to be a watch lover but I feel better now without a watch *laughs*.

I love clocks and have at least one in every room (including the bathroom). Of course, the computer clock is the most accurate, and the time on my cell phone. I don't wear a watch anymore though. I just use my cell phone as my time piece. I absolutely can't stand to be in a place where I don't know what time it is. Is that weird?

I only use my computer clock if I am sitting right in front of it. Otherwise, if I am in the family room, I look at the VCR or DVR, since they both have clocks. We have wall clocks in the bathrooms (to make sure my husband is getting ready on time),in the game room, in the dining room, and even in the kitchen, though that one seems kind of silly, since it is directly above the microwave, which also has a clock. Besides the wall clocks, we have two digital alarm clocks in our bedroom. Our stereo also has a built in clock, and so does the VCR in our room. Elliott's room is the only room in the house that doesn't have a clock. But he does have a TV so we can always check the time that way, if I don't have my watch on, or my cell with me in there. Most of our caller ID's have a clock on them, and we have 8 phones hooked up in our house! Plus we have cell phones, and my husband and I each wear a watch. To an outsider, it probably looks like we are obsessed with time! lol The main reason for all the wall clocks is so my son can learn how to really tell time when the time comes. I don't want him to only know how to read digital.

I use both clocks. Personally I do not care how close it is, just as long as its near the time or slightly early. Also, I'm kind of bad judging time internally, especially during work. A whole afternoon passed me by and I thought it was just an hour.

Hum, that's a very good question indeed. I would have to say that for me it actually really depends more on what I am am doing at the time. For example, if I am Online, I will check what my computers internal clock tells me, however, if I am out and about with my family or friends, I will look at clocks or at a watch to see what the actual time. So at least for me the question actually all depends on what I'm doing. I wonder what everyone else has to say about this. Hum. :)

Hi there. Most of the time, when Im on the computer I do use the little computer clock in down in the task bar, otherwise I just use my cell phone... As the wrist watch, just does'nt seem to work on my hand, and keeps breaking down, for some reason...

Sometimes I will use it but most of the time I just use my tv because it says it when ever I change the channel. I would only use my time online clock if ive been watching a movie and I want to know the time before the show I want to see starts so I dont miss it. Also when I wake up in the morning I will use the clock to see what the time is because I dont have one in my room.

Hello beautyqueen26, When I am at the computer I usually use the computers clock to check the time. I don't look at the clock anymore to check the time except when I am not in front of the computer. At home in my room I don't have a clock, I used to a desk clock, but its already busted a long time ago. So I just rely on my computers clock to check the time, if its closed, I turn to my mobilephone to check the time. :-)

Well...Infact I don't even own a watch now...because much of my time is spent in front of my PC...so I always got a clock on my wallpaper on my desktop.

We have several clocks around here. One digital alarm with big neon red numbers in the livingroom, the same in the bedroom and a kitchen wall clock with cute little duckies on it.. I'm being sarcastic because I hate that clock and the cute little duckies! When I moved in the whole kitchen was decorated with those damnable ducks and the only remaining remnant now it is that clock. I keep saying I'm going to make a new one, sculpt it myself. One of these days.. :) No offense meant to anyone who has their kitchen decorated in Early American Duck but when I say everywhere I mean everywhere! Rugs, curtains, wallpaper, towels, placemats, stickers, salt & pepper shakers, tea set, centerpiece, fridge magnets, spice rack.... ahhhhhhh!

My whole family actually turn on the computer monitor to see what time it is! Which sounds so silly and your post reminds me that one day I must buy a clock! I would like a nice big and beautiful clock for the wall. I often have guests pointing out to me that I don't have a clock but that still doesn't remind me to buy one! Sometimes you don't really want to know the time anyways - it always goes too fast! I do wear a watch myself though and would be lost without it. I use it all the time and when I forget to put it back on after my shower I really miss it and it shows me how often I do in fact wonder what time it is!
