Hello!
::::::::::
Okay. I don't really call people lazy as I don't like being called as one. It's just it pisses me off how some of the "locals" here behaves...when I say "locals" they're the permanent residents of this country[i'm here in the middle east]. I know not all of them are doing this, but I can't understand why others do it.
In the cold stores/small grocery store/store here it's a common scene that a car will park outside, beeps and the storekeeper will go out....when I witnessed it, I asked my hubby why is that? he said because some of them are lazy that wouldn't even get out of their car...they will just park, beeps and tell the storekeeper what they want then pay and leave....I said what?? it's like a drive thru in a fastfood chain...LOL!! I didn't really mind it and like I said it's a common thing here.
But days ago, I was mad, okay...I went to the cold store to buy some few stuff, then when I was about to pay, a car stopped outside, beeped....I looked at the storekeeper[who was alone and was the cashier at the same time], then he gave me this "i'm sorry" face. He continued punching my items, but this spastic driver in the car kept on beeping....the poor cashier tried to ignore it, but the driver won't stop beeping...I started getting irritated, who the hell does this driver thinks he is!! still beeping..the cashier gave me again this "i'm sorry" look...I nodded[telling him to attend to the driver]..so the cashier went outside, took the driver's order, went back inside...and guess what??? the driver only wants to buy a FREAKIN PACKET OF CIGARETTE!!! what the heck!!*gggggggggrrrrrrrr**aarrrrrggghhhhh*
::::::::::
Okay tell me if i'm overreacting???!!!
I mean, that freakin driver could have at least went out of his car and buy the cigarette himself no? It's not a hard thing to do!! Where's the consideration to other customers? NONE!
I was being calm..but in my mind was saying...here I am giving way to this impatient driver who's only going to buy a packet of cigarette which is nothing compared to what i'm going to pay!!!
Who the hell they think they are?[the one's behaving like this]...they do it because they're locals and thinks they can do whatever they want to do...
They don't just actually do it in cold stores, they do it in some fastfood chains where there's no drive thru.
::::::::::
If you were in my situation would you feel the same...like be irritated.. Excuse me for saying the word 'lazy' but it was an act of laziness...I know not all of them are like that as I have some local friends here and they don't do it...but some...grrrrrrr...!!

That is why some say that customer is always right. And when you said on the last part of your story, not "all" but "some". "Some" mean it is not a local custom practice, but attitude of some local.
For this issue I think it is not easy to change their attitude because both of them are local, the buyer and the seller. As the buyer feels that kind of practice is the customer right for them. Once ignored by the seller they will be reaction from the buyer(beeper). I think will never change for people's attitude but the business system has to change.
I think good things to have, I should thanks to you for your discussion, I gain something from you today because I always look problem as an opportunity. Just like in war, the most who make money are those who sell medicines and foods.

Hello!
The customer should really always be right..I know that as we had a cold store in Philippines and it's not like that there. But if the customers are a local and a non-local, the local one is always the superior...which means, they come first...especially if the non-local is an asian. It is not really a local custom here but it's acceptable and yes, the storekeeper allows it, why? the store owner is a local but the storekeeper is asian, which means, the storekeeper is the inferior one. That is how it works here, most of the time. Frustrating but true. Thanks.

o...o...why don't you tell me earlier, that the humble storekeeper is an asian and the inferior one....!!!! next time, spell my mane and I will be there and "tag" the beeper and dumps him to the sea....I'm just like Superman, you shout or yell out loud..."H.E.L.P.", I'll be there and ready to give helps without rewards.....a Super Michael....

Ha ha ...for some people your beahviour is kind of overreacting..!!
But to me its really frustrating. Its not that I am myself a store keeper but when I think their way its really bad..!!
Soem people just think others as their servents.So they treat them they way they want..!!
What I belive is we should respect every other person on this planet. I also respect a clerk around me ..after all no work is small or big its just work!! And they are at their own stands. Independent.
So people should also respect such store owners..!!
I have the same reaction like yours whenever I see such kind of people around me!!
Its really irritating.

Hello!
I totally agree with you that we should respect everybody regardless of his work. We had a store before and I did help being the storekeeper or cashier and it's not like that in our country at all. That's why when it happened to me I was mad. I know already that they do that here, but maybe you won't bother or won't be affected until it happens to you personally. *smile*

OMG!!! i can't believe it... and honestly, this is the first time i heard about the convenience store offers this kind of service... i don't have this service in my home country and especially in australia... we all are expected to DIY (do-it-yourself) for everything... and yes, i agree with you completely that the person is lazy and on top of that, he has no manner and very rude... i will be very very irritated as well if i were you and i will come out and tell the person off that the storekeeper is serving somebody else...

Hello!
Well, better believe it..*hehehe* couldn't believe it before as well, I know it happens but I just didn't bother at all, until just now, when I experienced it..it's frustrating.. and the problem is that I don't have the nerve to go out and tell the drive he's rude and should wait...I wished I had that time..maybe i'll just hope it won't happen to me again, or i'll just keep away from cold store..*hihihi* go straight to malls.

Everybody has a right to rave and rant when they come up against something least expected and which inconveniences them. But as you said, not everybody is like this. Such ‘locals’ are to be found everywhere, not only in the Middle East. Every nations has its share of such spoil brats (either they are spoilt brats or grownup men brought up as spoilt brats), you will find them speeding away on bikes, having brawls in pubs, punching people at the slightest pretext, ignoring the common civic norms and necessities and such. Just because you have come across this sort of highhandedness for the first time, that you have become angry. But if you give it a calm thought, you will see different sorts of high-handedness in your own nation too. It’s a different story that maybe there you can call the cops in, but your day is already spoiled isn’t it?

Hello!
I know, there are a lot of spoilt brats in the country where I came from too but I think they have more here..*hihihi* well, at least in our country we don't do that in the cold store, we had a cold store before and we don't do such thing. Customers wait for their turns. Cops? not gonna bother actually, as I don't trust the cops here...*wink* and yeah you're right, my days is already spoiled. Thanks for the thought.

I just can't believe it..and it is not a drive thru store? where someone is assigned to attend to them.
I think it is happening because the stores have permitted them to do just like that. If they would not sell to customers who don't want to even step out of his car then nobody will do that again.
I just cannot think of a more decent word to call that kind of customers..than just being plain lazy.:)

Hello!
Thanks for agreeing with me, that they're lazy. It wasn't a drive-thru store, if it was it would have been okay. I really dunno why they allow it, that's one of the reasons why as much as possible I don't want to go there and just buy stuff in the big shops.
ciao! =)

Hi fab315! I think I will be reacting the same way you do. Those kind of people may think that they have the world in the palm of their hands and that everyone is on their beck and call, they must think they are royals or the chosen ones. I guess, they are just inconsiderate and lazy people who are only thinking of themselves all the time. It is agood thing you and I don't belong to that kind of people. Take care and have a nice day!

It sounds like they just want someone to believe they are IMPORTANT. Even when they are not. You really showed who the more adult person is. We will listen to you any day, because sometimes you need to either vent or explode.

Hello!
Ohh...believe me, the locals here really believe they're important. They will make you feel that this is there country and you're just a guest here...which is really annoying sometimes. Thanks for listening...honestly, I have lots of things to vent about these locals...this is just a start...*hihihi*

I guess that's why they make drive-thru's. Aside from drive-thru's we don't have anything like this, that I know of. You can't just drive up and honk and expect to be waited on. That just seems ridiculous and I'm glad that we do not have anything like that at all around my parts.
