Do Remember what you Dream of?

I haven't been traditionally able to remember anyhting of what i dreamed of. I mean, sometimes i woke up with little traces of some dream...mostly feelings more than images or specifical data.
But in the last year or so i've been able to remember more things and more often. I think someone has a bit to do with that, but who knows :)
Anyway, I still don't remember most of the things i dream of, given the medical fact that we all dream. Are you able to remember your dreams? Do you like that? do you have nightmares?

I remember most of my dreams I think. When I was younger, I did some training in lucid dreaming, and so I've pretty much been able to not only remember but control many of my dreams. I usually try to decide what I want to dream about before I go to sleep. The way I do this is by starting a story in my head, sort of a fantasy, and then letting myself drift off to sleep. At least 90% of the time, the story will continue to unfold in my sleep. =)
I do sometimes have nightmares, but most of them are memories from my past. The only recurring nightmare I can think of that isn't a real memory is the one where my body starts to fall apart and I'm taping it back together, or trying to glue it together. It's pretty yucky. Usually when nightmares pop up, I can "defeat" them with my idealized warrior self that I created during my lucid dreaming training, but once in a while, especially if I am ill or have been very stressed out or talked about certain past experiences, I will get trapped in a nightmare.
Last night I didn't sleep much because I wasn't feeling well and some spooky things had happened around my apartment, but when I did sleep I dreamed of anime. In Japanese, with English subtitles even. I am such a nerd. =P

Partially because you're a good writer, but partially because you just seem like a vivid person to me in general. Just the way you talk about things... unless you're particularly in a funk or something, you seem to be so involved in everything you are doing or talking about, I can't imagine dreaming being any different for you.
I'm disappointed you didn't tell me I was creepy for guessing what you were going to say before I read your response. I'll have to try harder. *giggles*

It is very rare for me to remember my dreams! There have been times when I had bad dreams and woken up very distressed - I managed to tell my other half what the dream was all about but after a while I forgot again! Normally I don't remember any details of what I dream just whether they were good or bad! xxx

I'm in the same situation... I mean in most of the cases I can't remember anything that I dream... and that worries me sometimes, cos there are people around me that describe me theirs dreams in such a detail that I envy them...
I want to be able to remember to...:((

I usually remember my dreams. I often dream of odd things that are semi-based in reality. Like there will be people I know, and we will all be escaping from a place that I think I know, but when I wake up, it will turn out that I don't actually know the place. Or I'll be going to a party. Just random things.
Sometimes I dream my day. Like a day where I get up, get ready, go to work, and come home. And then I wake up, and have to actually do these things even though I feel like I've just done them. It's exhausting.

I remember some of my dreams. The ones that are really vivid. I find that I remember them really well when I first get up but if I don't consciously think about them then they just fade away. I do remember nightares better. Probably becuase they cause such an imprint on the brain and have such strong emotional ties.

Sometimes i remember my dreams and some would prefer not to remember....LOL.
Rarely have a nightmare and who really wants them.
Was told though once if in your dreams your going to fall or something let it happen as it is only a dream and nothing can happen to you in a dream.

Yes! I always seem to remember what I dream of. So much that when I wake up, I write it down and keep it in a journal. It's quite nice to be able to look back through the journal and recount the dreams I've had, especially those over the course of a few years. So far, I've got two journals full of dreams.
Some are nightmares, some are happy dreams, and some are just plain weird. But no matter the dream, if I remember it, I write it down.

The technique about remembering a dream is by thinking of something... just one thing that is significant about what you dreamed about. I used to forget about what i dreamed about but then when i think really hard about just a single thing from a dream, the whole dream just comes flooding in my memories.

Do you drink or smoke sometimes? I'm only asking this becuase sometimes we are able to remember our dreams due to total sobriety. Lately, I've been able to remember my dreams a lot more too. I've noticed that I'm having dreams in which I am not a part of, but I'm just the spectator. Is that weird or what?

Hi LightningStrike! Oh, as much as I would want to remember those dreams especially the ones that make me so happy inside, I can't seem to remember them. I just remember the feelings and some vague scenes. I wish I could remember the details more so I could play it back over and over again in my head. haha..But of course, never want to remember the nightmares. I don't like the feeling of being scareed or hurt one way or the other. Take care and have a nice day.

I have an idea to remember your dreams. It all depends on how many hours you sleep. If you sleep only for a few hours, say, 5 or 6 hours, you will most probably won't remember anything. But if you sleep for about 9 hours, you are most likely to remember most of the dreams you have on that night. I have personally experienced. Also, if you wake up soon after a dream, you will definitely remember it when you wake up the next morning.
