Can anyone work at home with out being Scammed...Mom wants to know!!!

I'm a new mom who's in love...with my son! I don't want to send him to daycare because of the horror stories I've heard of neglected infants. Mind you, he's 8 mos old and growing more independant every day. I need to supplement my husband's income. Coming from a techie background and accomplishing this myself in the past prior to children, I know telecommuting jobs are out there!!! But now a days, it just seems like everyone is out to make a buck and stepping on the people who really need and want work. There are countless links..."If you send us 11.95...If you pay 35.99...If you pay 65.99...we'll tell you WHERE to look!" Now, what kind of help is that? You get sent to a link or worse, you never hear anything again...bye-bye 11.95... I'm not into selling Herbal Life or Team building pyramids. I honestly don't really want my own"home business". I'm just trying to make some honest cash for some honest work! Has any other mother's out there found this to be as difficult?

Thanks chitoka. I have to be careful what type of CS or Telemarketing I'd be doing, I do have a munchkin in the back ground! Although I'm considering evening work so my husband can watch the baby. I'd hate to do that to him since he works so hard during the day. I'd rather just let him zone when he comes home in the evenings.

What about starting your own business as a Virtual Assistant? You could take calls for busy local business people. Do their data entry, typing, emails follow up, etc. There are lots of people out there who would be more than happy to pay you to handle tasks they don't have time for. I do a similar thing, and do pretty well. Not getting rich, but hey, who wants to pay all those taxes anyway? lol

You also might try I copied from another site....... BabytoBee- If you look at their website, you can get a good idea of what they do. I do not work for this one, but from what I gather you call expectant parents who have requested offers or information on the website. You are generating leads and making other offers to them. You get paid hourly $10.00. They pay weekly. They ask for a minimum of 30 hours per week but you make your own schedule. Their is no link to apply on their website but you can send an e-mail to seth@babytobee.com or deena@babytobee.com

Your son is SO cute! I agree with you. I have been a stay at home mom for about a year now and I am trying to find ways to make some money. It's not easy. Everyone wants your money to make sure you are serious about working for them. I don't think that's fair. You don't pay a company for an interview when you are going to work outside the home right? I have a few ideas for you if you would like to email me and I would be more than happy to help you however I can. Also a GREAT webite is WHAM.com Check it out and see what you think. The site is full of people like us trying to make an honest living at home with their kids.

Yeah, I think that's how I got to myLot.com through WHAM.com! I've just signed up to a company AmeriPlan (yeah, cost me money) but it seems like a worthwhile venture. Helping people. We'll see where it goes...

hi, that's a terrific pic of your son. I have a boy that is 7 and I am doing the same thing. As far as doing something on the internet, i don't know about jobs that you would work like a 9-5 or anything. I know I work for a company that you just promote it and when people get involved like you, you get paid, and checks are received weekly. I don't know how much you are looking to work at home, but, if your interested in it I can send you info on it. If not, well good luck finding what you are trying to find....

Don't get scam on fast cash promises, start your own home business. You must be talented in something, exploit it.

Yeah, my husband thinks I should do this chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick thing I've developed. But I'm afraid to attempt to market this cause it's food. You know how some people feel about what is in things. But that being said...IT IS KILLER.

I see from an earlier post that you have applied with liveops; also check out www.workathomeagent.com They are very similar to liveops and are hiring right now. I have been working for them for about a month. I've even received my first pay check. And it didn't bounce!!! I am also very cautious of work at home 'opportunities'. Another thing that I am doing is www.chacha.com I have been working for them for three weeks and have made almost $300. They do have lots of site glitches and bugs, but they seem to be diligently working to smooth things out.

Thanks for the info. I signed up to chacha.com this morning. I think with all the reponses, they said it would be a couple of days getting back to me. www.workathomeagent.com is accepting applicants for weekend work only at this time according to their website. That would be hard for me to manage, but I signed up for them yesterday.

my reasons for working at home - I love my kids
Okay go to this website this has TONS of information on how to work from home, I swear it will not be a waste or yur time to check all these sites out and information. My main business on this website is Stayin Home and Lovin It, but then I also have some other websites that I also promote to help others should they not feel they can do any sort of marketing type job or perhaps are not looking to work with people. I know but it is true, I have run into a few people who want to work online but do not want to have any contact with people directly. It is strange but hey, I got to do what I can to help all of us who want to be at home wiht our children! my job is really to help others help themselves and be with their kids. I struggled to have my children and I do not want to miss any part of their lives that is why I started working from hnome myself. http://www.freewebs.com/sandeevandee/I promise yu will not be disappointed

I do know of ways in which you can make a bit of extra money online. I've been paid for reading emails, completing free offers, completing surveys and playing games, and I have never sent them any money from my own pocket. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving links here (fear of violating the rules), but I will give info and links if you add me as a buddy and PM me.

It's certainly possible if you do the necessary research but in most cases, such opportunities end up being totally fraudulent, which can not only be quite frustrating but may cost you some money and certainly time.

I'm not a stay at home mom, but I did lose my job afew months back so I to went looking to the internet and found the same thing so I started up my own site to try and help people like us. All the programs are free and the Opportunities are there. This is NOT a 'Get Rich-Quick' Scheme, and it's surely not a magic pill that will solve your every problem, nor make you $1,000,000 overnight...""These are real, legitimate and proven ways to make extra money online or at Home and can even replace your current occupation if done properly . It costs nothing but your time to check them out and I hope you can find something that can help out. http://www.affiliatebusinessservices.com/
