I think there is a scientific explanation to that. It brings us back to the serenity of our mother's womb.

Hi wisedragon,
I usually sleep on my belly! While I was pregnant with my daughter I had to sleep on my side, and now I do both. Mostly I sleep on my belly though!

I start out on my left side, roll to my right side, then back to my left side. Often times I roll to my back and rarely to my stomach.

You move around a lot. I hope your husband doesn't mind! LOL

I usually sleep at my right side or my left side whichever I feel comfortable in.

Oh, i hardly remember the positons i sleep in !! As i am sleeping then and i sleep really well to remember the position!!
But yes , before i really fall asleep i am most comfortabe sleeping on my right side facing my husband!! As he sleeps on my right side too, so facing him has become a habit though after a while i sleep on my back and then turn to the left then right again, and there after i never know how i sleep!! And i get up also in different position, but never have i ever had my face down, meaning i never sleep on my tummy, rest all the positions one gets up i, and i think being a little curled up, like we are in the womb is always there in all people too i think, mostly i mean.
Each person is different and everyone will have their various positions which they are most comfortable to sleep in, and yes while watching TV i am on my stomach, but otherwise never sleep on it, guess what habits or the way we sleep in our childhood also determines how we sleep, the positon we sleep in now, when we are older too.

I think it's sweet when husband and wife sleep facing each other. Thanks vinzen.

I usually sleep on my left side, too. I dunno why. But I feel comfortable that way. And I don't change position. I still wake up on that side. According to my parents. I am sickly when i was a baby. They always put me on my side so i could have a good sleep and avoid difficulty in breathing. maybe it is what influenced me.

Wow that's rare, waking up in the same position that you started to sleep.

My sleeping position, to be sure, actually varies from time to time, depending on my mood or my ability to catch sleep in a certain sleeping position.
Oftentimes, though, I would say that I could easily catch the very elusive sleep (for me, at least) whenever I'm facing the ceiling and my back is lying very relaxed on my bed.
As regards snoring, though, I could really not tell how I often I do it, but I feel that I tend to snore when I'm extremely exhausted.
To be certain, though, I would ask my siblings so that I would also know how often I snore, and if it has already become habitual.
If my snoring does become habitual, I surely need to do something about it--I'll probably experiment with different sleeping positions, since it could be a factor in lessening, if not eliminating, my snoring.

Yes, snoring is worst when you're on your back. You might want to try sidelying.

I sleep face down. I usually sleep laying down on my belly.

It's funny but somehow that seems to be the most comfortable!
