What show would you like to return to television?

There are so many great shows that are no longer on television for us to watch. A couple of really good shows were cancelled just last year that I would like to see brought back. The Black Donnely's was one. This show had such potential and was prematurely axed as far as I'm concerned. If it had been given a little more time I'm sure it would have created a very big fan base. Kidnapped is another show that should have never been cancelled. I also miss shows that are currently on in re-runs, such as Friends, The Fresh Prince, Roseanne and Home Improvement. I think these shows could have gone on for at least a few more seasons with a steady audience following. So, what shows would you like to see brought back to television? Are there any shows that you feel were cancelled before they really got a chance to shine?

I'd love if they brought back Angel. It wasn't cancelled, it just ended. The fifth season was awesome, it's a pity they didn't make any more.

I liked Angel. But if they hadn't ended it we wouldn't be seeing the sexy lead in Bones, which is a really good show. But if I had to choose, I think I'd rather see him in Angel again.

"I've always wanted to see new episodes of Star Trek (the original series)" - Peter Griffin Some validity to that :) I'd also like to see more Married with Children but I understand why that one was ended, they'd been doing it for a long time.

I completely forgot about Married With Children. Now that was a funny show.

Many potentially good shows fall victim to the ratings system every year, mommy. It angers me when these shows are not given a chance. There seems to be a demand for the inane reality shows that are taking over more and more. I could name quite a few, but I won't go there. I have found myself gravitating more and more to talk radio at night when there is nothing on tv that I am interested in.

I hear you on that one. Some really great shows have been cancelled after only a few episodes. What sucks is that the amount of viewers are added up for when the show is on, but they don't count all the people that watch these shows on DVR. They can't be sure how big of an audience certain shows get, and they prematurely pull them off the air. I've heard some rumors that the Black Donnelly's was going to be picked up by HBO though, so hopefully that will pan out. I think that show would have a better home on cable anyway. It would probably generate a bigger audience and the creators and producers wouldn't have to hold back. It could be the next Sopranos. Okay, maybe not that big, but close:)

There was this show on for a very short period of time last year called Happy Hour. It was on fox or something like that and it was just one of those silly comedies. This boy moved to chicago to be with his girlfriend who immediately dumped him and he moved in with this guy who lived in the same building as the girl. that was the main storyline. It was cute and I liked it. I couldn't get into the Black Donnelys.. I really wanted to be into it but I just couldn't. All the only shows on re-runs I totally agree with. I LOVED all of them and still watch them, constantly. I also miss the old cartoons and stuff from the 80's. I love that Direct Tv has a channel, Boomerang, that plays some of them, like Smurfs and Captain Planet and the Snorks. But I really miss the stuff like Rainbow Brite and He-Man and Jem and the holograms. Oh man and remember Dinosaurs? Not the momma! I pretty much miss everything I grew up watching. ha ha.

Wow, you really brought me back. I used to love Fraggle Rock. My kids like to watch the Smurfs, which I think is cool because they are experiencing a part of my childhood. I also remember Rainbow Brite. I used to love that show. It's too bad it isn't on anymore because I'm sure my daughter would love it. And yes, I do remember the Dinosaurs. The good thing about that show is that you can get it on video still if you can find a place that still carries VHS. Our local library has it and I was able to get a couple episodes for my kids to watch. They loved it!

I work for a public library and we don't even carry VHS anymore. Actually though, the Dinosaurs are out on DVD. DVD tv shows just cost soooo much money. I have Fraggle Rock season 1 on DVD! Pee wee's playhouse, in living color and Punky Brewster. All stuff I watched as a kid! Stuff from that era was definitely the best. Kids these days don't have cool television!

i dont know about anyone else in england but I would love to see something akin to 'Allo 'Allo again. That show was positively hilarious! they couldnt do it with the original cast after one of the lead actors had a serious accident that means he cant really work as an actor any more but if they could do something like it, that would be awesome! I would also like to see BlackAdder again. That was so funny! I love rowan atkinson anyway so seeing him back as BlackAdder would just be awesome. And as much as I wish for it I know this will never happen. I would like to see Red Dwarf up and running again (don't beat me over the head with it! I know it will never happen lol). Red Dwarf was just the funniest series next to BlackAdder. It's just a pity Craig charles is in corrie street, I cant see him ever leaving that now.

I've never heard of these shows before, but I agree about Rowen Atkinson. Mr. Bean's hilarious.

I've heard of, but never watched any of these shows, but I really regret not giving Gilmore Girls a shot. It got some really great reviews and the previews always looked interesting.

LOL. There was something magical about television back then that is hard to come across nowadays. I was a great fan of Charmed also and wish it had stuck around for another season or two.

from the 50's "I Love Lucy" 60's - My Three Sons, Tonight Show with Johnny Carson (I realize he was on longer, and show is still on, but that is the period of the most classic shows, most of which are not taped) 70's - Family and Mary Tyler Moore 80's - Cosby Show and St. Elsewhere 90's - Friends (also goes in 00) 00's - original Who Wants to be a Millionaire (started in late 90's as I recall...this is the Regis Philbin version), Seventh HEaven, and Gilmore Girls.
