Do you do silly things when you are tired ?

I had a really heavy day yesterday , Didn't sleep much last night and was up early today again , I was running about all day , , anyway I went to make dinner and I was putting corn on the cob in the microwave , I set the minutes , I hit start and nothing happened , I tried it with OVEN hit start and still nothing happened , So I switched it off and back on and still nothing happened , Ross said " are you sure it's switched on Mum" how stupid do you think I am pal lol.Shouted to hubby " we need to have the microwave looked at pal ( we know a guy who can do it ), hubby came through to the kitchen , Wait a minute I said and pushed the door , it gave a click ,The door wasn't shut , How stupid did I feel lol , At least we don't need to pay an electrician , but how silly would I have felt lol , Last week I did much the same thing , I had bought one of those stainless steel electric bins for the kitchen , you pass your hand over it and the lid automatically opens and it closes when you move away , I was like a big kid , I kept playing with it , That night too I was tired and was standing with a plate of food in my hand passing the other hand over the microwave door and wondering why it wasn't opening lol ,Then I I heard my hubby laughing behind me I am not a stupid person but I do stupid things , at least it gives us all something to laugh about xxxx

Hi weemam, thanks for the funny story! I have done and said some funny things while being tired myself. One time I had gotten barely any sleep and in the morning I went to toast a bagel, so I put it in the toaster, I got out my cream cheese, poured a cup of coffee, and waited and waited and waited for that darn bagel. I then got mad and started ranting about how the darn toaster was broken, my hubby comes into the kitchen, laughs, and says it might help if you plug it in! Man did I ever feel smart!

My client's microwave starts when you close the door if there's time set on it. Mine you have to press start. I'm always shutting the door on hers & being surprised it starts running & wondering why mine doesn't start.... At least I don't have anyone watching to laugh at me when I jump at her place.

As you know my dear friend I am not a morning person so when I do get up I'm bleary eyed, it has been known that I will put coffee granules into my cereal bowl and cornflakes in my coffee mug!

Hi weemam, I'm so happy to see you here, with your new discussion. I've really missed this! What a funny incident. I've actually done this too before, with the microwave, and found out, like you, that the door wasn't closed tight. Also, just yesterday, the light in the microwave suddenly went out, and everything shut down. I found out that the cord had come out of the outlet slightly. This morning I walked into the 'bathroom' with some clothes that I was intending to put away in the bedroom. I seem to do this type of thing more and more these days. I guess it's my age.:) By the way "It's really me, here." I haven't gone anywhere else, but this 'is' me.;) Have a great day!

I 'think' I'm pleased that it's really me (hehe). Just kidding, but I'm glad we've got this whole 'identity crisis' sorted out. Do you think I should change my name?;) Thanks for making me smile today, and I hope I'll have some more smiles, as well. Take care, my friend. xxxxxx

Oh I find this so funny. Looks like you are as human as the rest of us. I do find that when very tried I tend to say or do funny things also. I also remember years ago when my brother and his family come to visit and my sister in law and I were up very late and the least little thing would make us laugh and laugh and laugh. We had such a fun time just doing nothing but laugh. When my youngest daughter was in the hospital having her child she and I were so tired. He was born after 1 in the morning and we were both so excited afterwards. I stayed at the hospital with her that night or rather the early morning. She and I played a game called Yahtzee, the next day we looked at our score sheets and could barely make them out, couldn't read our own writing....give out but had a blast.

I tend to mispell, forget something easier and slow down when I am tired. There are certain things that I wont do if I am too tired, just to be safe.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused. -- Author Unknown I do it all the time - I work double shifts several days in a row every other week. Last week at work - I put the milk under the sink, the spray cleaner in the refrigerator. I made cookies - set the timer - forgot to turn it on - ended up with hockey pucks. We all do stuff like that - just don't drive.

I'm like you hun, and have done some very silly things in my time. Putting a mug of coffee in the fridge instead of the microwave, filling a kettle then wondering why it wasn't boiling when I didn't switch it on. The worst was putting out a bag of washing for the rubbish collection although fortunately I did remember in time and retrieve the laundry before it was thrown into the lorry :-)

Hi weemam! Oh, that is funny. LOL! It seems that you are really tired and didn't have enough sleep. I know I have done so many silly things or bloopers in my life because I guess I was too exhausted but one thing really stand out. It happened a long time ago, I was a wedding coordinator and the wedding that we were having finished up until 1 in the morning and then I have to do some final retouches on the crafts that are my orders which were due for that day. I didn't sleep at all and I have to deliver the orders in my store at 10 in the morning and our house is 30 minutes away from my novelty shop. And guess what, when I reached the shop I was wearing sandals that are not of the same pair. My sales personnels were laughing and shaking their heads at me. I guess, I slowed down from then on. Take care and have a nice day!

It's what I call having an absent moment, where your mind goes wayward while doing something and for some reason something isn't working right or the mind won't return to the present or realize what is needed to be done. Everybody has those moments but as long as we can laugh then it's all in fun. Afterall, we're human and can do some silly things sometimes.

Oh so funny. I have done a lot of dumb things when tired. I guess you are in good company. I cannot think of any specifically at this moment. Possibly because I was too tired when I did them. Thanks so much for sharing this fun with us.

I don't need to be tired to be silly. I usually have more than one thing on my mind. I might go outside to do one thing but end up doing another. I went out this morning to attach the grey water hose to the washing machine hose and got side tracked and of course the laundry flooded...not a problem in itself but the water drained to an area where it's not supposed to be. My sleeping is very erratic at the moment so it's probably got something to do with things. I hope things get better for you.
