Ok. This will probably sounds awful. But, I really HATE it when people comment on my articles with things like, "Oh, and you forgot..." or "And, this is also true...." or "Oh, but did you know this...". I hate it. It's not helpful. It makes the commenter looking like a know-it-all. How do they know I "forgot" anything? If it's not in the article then I MEANT it not to be in the article. I didn't FORGET!!!

My theory on comments on AC is that at least they mean that I'm getting page views. Even if the comment is something that I don't appreciate (but as long as it's not malicious), I just try to take it as a good thing.
But, at the same time, I do understand where you're coming from. I've written some articles where I have specifically left stuff out, because I'm using it in a different article (or may already have that info in another article).

I almost never comment on other people's articles. I don't even like commenting on articles that I was asked to give feedback on. It makes me uncomfortable. And I find internet comments pretty much useless, so many of them seem to be pure nit-picking--"I could have done a better job than you if I wasn't so lazy" is how most of them seem to read to me. My advice (if you can) is just turn the comment function off. It is what I do; it saves me a certain amount of bile and writing time (bad comments can wreck my entire day if I am off my game). And remember you are not alone, we all get these lame comments.

Thanks. It's really good to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. :D

Maybe I am alone on this but I would much rather get the know it alls than one liners. I hate comments that only consist of "good point" or "lolz, this was funny!". At least if you get a know it all commenting on your stuff, you know they took the time to actually read it. That means if they liked it, they may subscribe or tell others about it.

Then I think it is time for you to quit posting articles and or things on public forums in which people are allowed to leave comments of their own...I think one should be thankful anyone even visits the article, you get paid for that, and if what they say is wrong and such it should not bother you to ignore it.

I sometimes do that although it's not to be a show off or be a know it all. I do it b/c maybe I do know something or have more information that the poster or other ppl responding might not know or may have missed out on that they might want to know or would help them to understand the issue a better.

How do you know that they don't know it? That is the crux of the problem. And one of the reasons that I try to comment on other people's writing.
