I have written a novel a long time ago. It's based on Star Trek, the orginal series. The only problem with writing that kind of novel is that you have to have an agent to sale it to Paramount for you! I think it's a great novel, even after all these years. I suppose I should think about finding an agent, but the cost! My best friends writes too, romances and such. Not bad. But she's in the same boat I am, working, working working and family and no time to seriously write. But we both have decided to make time, so hopefully I can get some of those book ideas of mine onto the computer before they dry up and blow away! Any of you written anything you wish to share? Oh yeah, the name of my novel is The Last Guardian. I did have a friend read it and she says to make it an alterverse novel. But first I have to get it back from her so I can think about it!

Yes I write, I am currently in the process of writing a novel it is still in its early stages and I am finding less time to work on it with the Christmas season fastly approching instead of writing all the time, I need to work in order to get through the holidays.
But someday I hope to finish the novel, and have it published.

I also have trouble finishing my novel... I'm finding less time working on it but i'm finishing it through my phone... when i got a feeling of writing and i'm not at home and somewhere else, i get my phone and start typing the story... i have a friend who is also writing. unlike me, she is bringing her manuscript at school.

I've written an published a novel, and I'm working on two more in addition to a short story collection. My novel is called LIVING IN THE CITY.
Congratulations on writing a novel! A reputable agent will not ask for money up front. I guess the cost is in paper, ink, and postage to send your proposals. To find an agent, I suggest starting with www.guidetoliteraryagents.com
Another good resource is Preditors and Editors:

Good luck!

wow i love star trek very much. i wish you could have your novel published.
haven't written a novel myself but i've been wanting to. by the way i hope you don't mind but i need some advice about publishing. i don't live in the US but i would one day want to write and publish a book. i've heard about agents and stuff. when you get an agent, does that mean you have to pay him even if your book doesn't get sold? don't they just accept payment after your book has been sold?

I've never actually written a novel, but I've always wnated to. one of my lifes goals is to become an author :) I'm already fifteen, but my goal is to write a novel by the end of highschool. I'll be writing a 50,000 word one in november for NaNoWriMo (I made a discussion on it a couple days ago, if anyone's interested), where the challenge is to write a novel in a month. Anyways, I wish you good luck with your novel :) I love writing stories and such about already-created characters, but it is harder to sell those types of books. I really hope you manage to get the money to get an agent for your book, it sounds interesting and I'd love to see a fellow myLotter who's sold a novel!

I' currently working on my first novel. it's a contemporary one. It is about a group of young people with special abilities who tries to save the world from spirit and demon entering our world because the spirit world is getting crowd... there are minor stories too. I'm nearing the end of book one and after it more editing and writing. The novel will run in three books with different enemies all with the same goal... to enter our world. i also have a friend who is also writing a novel... it is fun writing....

I am writing a novel, not right now because I am on myLot, but it is a fantasy novel where some guy goes to a strange land, but it is not like most fantasy novels where the person landing on the planet Xeona, is totally out of his element. I figured I want the guy to survive, not get killed in the first one or two chapters.
have another novel I wrote about a few drafts, and I will take up with it after I finish this one. I also have several ideas, but found I love fantasy with a little mystery, suspense, and horror. You know, you should write what you want to write, not what your friend wants. It is your novel. I find that, unless the person gives some technical knowledge, etc. or tells you that your grammar or historical knowledge is bad, they want you to write their novel using your name.
