i've been having trouble sleeping for the last couple of days. usually the baby moves the most during midnight or very early dawn. i feel tired but can't seem to fall asleep. and then you have the flatulence issue. any advice from mothers out there?

oh my! LOL i am having the same problems!! this is my second pregnacy and i am having twins.. im 25 weeks along now. I dont recall not being able to sleep wth my first pregnacny and i dont recall having so much gas.. i was so embarassed i went this past week for my second ultrasound and it seemed like each time she pushed in my stomach with the dobbler thing i had to pass gas. of course i tried so hard to hold it in and she can obvisly tell , because she asked me if i wanted to go to the bathroom and let it out if id feel more comforatble or she said that she ouwld be perfectly ok with it if i had to release the pressure in the room! man i wanted to die of embarassement. i guess its just a common thing .. and the sleeping.. i will be so drained all day preparing myself NOT to sit because the moment i do i will fall asleep wehter it be for a minute or and hour, ill pass out, but i have to stay awake for houehold chores and taking care of my dauhgter and what not, and it seems when her bed time rolls around i am so excit4d time to sleep for me!! YAY! not ! the moment i climb into bed i get a second wind i feel tired but cant sleep, my mind is boggled every little noise distrubs me , i cant get comfy.. etc etc.
i feel ya pain sista!! take care stay heatlhy and god bless!

how i wish those scientists can find a way for pregnant women to be able to have restful nights. although many of them are men, there are some women around their circle, too. perhaps, no one among them has ever thought about adressing this problem yet is because, no one among them has ever internalized this problem among women.

I had a terrible time sleeping the last 3 months of my pregnancy. I tried all the pillows and everything but they barely helped. I also would have to get up and pee at least twice a night. Night time/lack of sleep was the worst part of the pregnancy for me. I know some people who were only able to sleep in recliners the last 2 months.

I am still very early on in my pregnancy but I was also having a very hard time sleeping. I invested in one of those body pillows. It works wonders. Helps me to get as comfortable as I can get anyway. I hope this helps. Congrats!

yes, i can visualize your condition. i wonder whether waterbeds are still very much available in your place? i have heard that sleeping in a waterbed can ease out very much this sleeping problem among pregnant women. i can still remember how difficult it has been to have a good night sleep whenever my tummy gets big and heavy with pregnancy. if there are pregnancy pillows now available, buy one. sleeping comfort for pregnant women is beyond the measure of money. it will redound to baby and mother's health after all.

I always had trouble sleeping when I was pregnant with my son, I learned to sleep when I could. If I was having a lot of pain during the night, I would get up, and then go to sleep when he seemed to settle down. Try taking a shower or bath, or doing something relaxing when you can't sleep. Do you think it could be anxiety that is keeping you from sleeping?

How far along are you? I dont think theres much you can do about it. I was sleeping pretty well til here recently. And nothing seems to help. And it only seems to get worse. I hear that the pregnancy pillows are supposed to help. I havent used one because everytime i find one they are so expensive. Good luck and i hope you find something that works for you. I know how you feel.

thanks it helps to know i'm not alone. it really is hard. i'm at 6 months. that's the first time i've heard of a pregnancy pillow. my husband bought me lots of fluffy pillows but not a specific one for pregnancy. i read that you're supposed to lie on your left side and tuck a pillow underneath. i'm sleeping on my left now
