I shred our paper that we no longer need - and then use it to line the chicken nests with and also use it for litter filler in guinea pig cage. when it comes time to clean out the nest boxes and litter the paper gets incorporated in to the soil.
our cans get cashed in at a recycle center - a fairly long drive from here
we have no place that takes glass, sadly... but I like to save my jars.

I try to recycle as often as possible. I am still trying to learn all thoes codes on the platic bottles though. It is somewhat confusing to me but Im sure if I sat down a studied it it would make more sense.

I recycle everything that they recycle out here..Only half the people, (there are only 4 full time residents, so 2 of us), recycle..It really isn't hard and I can't understand why the others don't..and the one, my, they have so much garbage, it is disgusting..

I recycle everything I can, either using the council facilities or around the home. Paper & card get used for the rabbits or the garden as compost or mulch, and I can use lots of other things around the garden too. I reuse plastic bottles as mini cloches, hang tins as bird scarers, use all sorts of plastic containers as seed trays & pots, use cotton based fabrics as mulch etc etc. Anything that I can't reuse ourselves goes into a big box & I take into town to put in the recycling boxes each time I go.

I recycle pretty much everything that I can. Glass, plastic bottles, newspapers, letters and faxes, tin cans, old books, waste paper and the like. I also try to recycle things that you wouldn't usually think of - I get new mobile phones quite often (it's a perk of my job), which means I constantly have old ones that I recycle through Envirofone.

It's very easy for us to recycle. Our city has an extensive recycling program, and so we just put things to be recycled out in a plastic bin or special bags next to the garbage.

We dont recycle as much as we should. I think you have gave me the gumption to get started on it. I think I'll get a couple of big boxes and get going. Thanks for the kick in the butt.

We save and return all of our bottles and get the deposit back. I save glass jars to give to people who make jam. We keep ice cream containers to use as small buckets. We spearate all of out grabage. And we save all of out flyers and stuff for fire starters for our wood stove. Also we get fire wood from fallen trees that would otherwise sit there and rot.

Once every week on trash pick up. My red bin is usually filled with lots of recyclables. It really piles up, especially with aluminum cans. I should bug the city for another, but I don't like dealing with them.

When we moved to Washington, we were finally able to start recycling--where we used to live they made it nearly impossible to do much recycling at all. Now we just keep a couple of cardboard boxes in the kitchen for recyclables, and dump those into our recycling dumpsters when they are full. I've noticed that we take out a LOT less garbage now, and that makes me very happy!
