Do you like to go to company parties when you are new at the company?

I just started a new job three weeks ago and we have a new manager. They are holding a bbq in the park today for employees and their families. I'm torn whether to go or not. Part of me thinks it would be good to meet people that I work with, but part of me just doesn't feel comfortable.

Just go and enjoy it! Even if you are new, there should be more peopla, that you can meet, and if you do not go, then people will talk about the bbq and you will feel out of place... I hope you have fun!

Yep. It gives me a chance to try and know the people. Many times I don't even have to ask, the people come right to me. I find it interesting at least, plus I do enjoy the gatherings.

i suppose you had better go there with them,as a new comer,it will be good for you to realize your workmates and know much things about your enviroment where you are ,it will be a good chance to get close to friends in your copany,though you do not feel comfortable at the moment,it must make you comfortable when you go to that bbq and back to the work. my own opinion ,just hope to make you a little better.
