I am an American and going by family names I am English and German and there may be others but my family tree is not well filled out. Both sides go back pretty far in the U.S., several generations at least. My father was from the hills of Tenn and we haven't been able to go to far back there. My mother's side goes far back in Texas but we have only found to the mid 1800's.

I am a Chinese and nice to meet you here. It is good that you have different background because that means to say you may have a better language ability and know more different culture.
