I recently heard of a young man called Andrew Mayor who addressed John Kerry at the University of Florida during a questions and answers session.
Here is the video of that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giZspLXXBPs
What happens is quite disturbing. Senator Kerry concludes his discourse, saying 'to continue to pile name upon name upon some wall in the future for a strategy that has failed. That's the distinction'.
He then turned his attention to Meyer, and called on him, pointing to him in a gesture to ask Meyer to speak, saying 'Sir'.
With Kerry's explicit permission, Meyer then began speaking into the microphone, where he was already standing, beginning with: 'I first and foremost want to thank you for your time'.
But that's not what Officer Nicole Lynn Mallo records in her Police Report:
As Senator Kerry was ending his speech, a man disrupted the senator by screaming, yelling, and flailing his arms. The man moved his way down the aisle yelling, 'Why don't you answer my questions, I have been waiting and listening to you speak in circles for the last two hours.' 'These officers are going to arrest me'. The man was screaming and yelling obscenities until Senator Kerry told him to calm down and that he would take his question, but he needed to calm down. At that point, the man stated, 'You will take my question because I have been listening to your crap for two hours'.

This report makes the man sound like a madman and as if it's completely justified that he be tasered.

This is reminiscent of when in 2005, 82 year old Walter Wolfgang - a life-time member of the Labour Party - was forcibly removed from a Labour Party conference, for shouting 'nonsense' in objection to Jack Straw's statement 'we are in Iraq for one reason only: to build a secure democratic and stable nation'.
It was cringe worthy to see the undignified forceful removal of a man of 82 years. Then afterwards he was detained under The Terrorism Act 2000? You could not meet a man who looks less like a Muslim Fundamentalist Terrorist - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4293502.stm
Looks like we don't even have the right to ask questions anymore, not least the right to our views. It's a sad state to live in.

I saw this after I posted, and I agree the footage doesn't quit show everything that goes on, giving a bit of a bias towards Meyer. But the Officer has still over simplified the events to her and her collegues advantage.
Meyer was being a complete sh1t but no way would he have been able to over power 6 officers, using the taser was unecissary. You can see the enjoyment in the fat copper's face, look at him smiling as he's telling the girls to get back.

"... but no way would he have been able to overpower 6 officers..." Thank you 4ftfingers for pointing this fact out! This was the same exact comment I made regarding Rodney king's case; Pedro Oregon Navarro's case in Houston, Texas; and the deaths of several youths after having been subdued by Houston police officers! While in some of these cases one can understand why an officer may have reacted the way he/she did, in most of them, there was no grounds for such hasty overreaction! See some samples below:
