I had a phone call last night that everyone just hates. My cousin's son was killed in a car accident yesterday. He was only 16. There were no drugs or alcohol involved. He just was on a road with lots of curves and cut one too short and hit a tree. He had only gotten his license recently. It is such a tragedy. I feel so bad for his family, but what do you say?

My sister was killed at the age of 19. Hers was drinking and driving. I know what I seen my parents go through. It has been since 1990 and the holidays are still horrible. They still get all upset. I just took over everything when that happened. I feel so bad for my cousin and his wife.
What is scary is my son is going to be driving within a year and I am definitely not ready for it.

I'm so sorry to hear this. It is truly one of those unbelievable tragedies. There is not much you can say about something like this. Everyone will be affected for quite a long time.

That is so sad, to have someone's life to be over in an instant. My prayers go out to the family. It is a good thing he was not drinking, but it is a bad thing if he was your cousin's only son. Boys are in more danger than girls. I gather words cannot express the grief you feel or that of your cousin. I hope in time the hurt lessens, but I gather that is too much to ask for.

oh sorry to hear this, this is very sad as well as very tragic with the family. Life is very unpredictable, no one knows when is the time. I give my sympathy to you. What had happen maybe had a purpose, no one knows what it is but we had to accept it. This will take time to heal for the love ones. Time will only tell. The only lesson we have to learn on this is that we should always pray whenever we travel or whatever we do, that God will protect us and guide us. That we should be careful on our way. Im very sorry to hear this. My sympathy and condolence to you.

Oh my gosh. That is just, so so awful! I am so sorry for your and your familys terrible loss. It's hard to understand how these things can happen, especially to someone so young. It's just so tragic. I wish you and his family the best.

I hate the news, too! I hope your cousin will take the lost of his son lightly. I know it really hurts badly but life must go on for her/him. And besides she/he still has a lot to do with her/his life. My condolences.

I can understand how you feel. It´s impossible to find words which express your sadness about this tragic accident. I think it´s best to let them know by a hug that they can count on you to help them and that you´re there to give them support.

I am really sorry to hear this, you could say that. Or you could ask if they need any help with anything. I would just show up and sit around waiting to see where I was needed. Sometimes, there is nothing you can say.
