Which nationality would you be?

If you could choose where you were born and what your culture was, what nationality would you choose to be? Or would you choose to be the same that your currently are? For me I'd either want to be Italian, it's my favorite language, the country is beautiful and the food is amazing plus the families are so close. Or I'd wand to be Swiss because they have a ton of paid holidays and time off as well as a minimum 2 year maternity leave (Paid) for moms and an up to one year leave for dads (also paid).

I think to be in this country in general one is really blessed..I wouldn't for instance want to be a woman in Afganistan with all the horrors I've heard about....but if I were to choose another country..it's a flip of the coin....I love, from what I've seen, the whole British atmosphere..so any one of those countries...BUT..I do love the French culture too--I'm part French, studied a bit of French in college, love the French language..oh, and the food, c'est manifique! Oh..la la...Hehehe Ah--so you love Italian? Come siete?

LOL--well no it's not really funny, but I've had arguments with people cause they question my being part Native American just because I don't have "tan" skin or "look" Indian..yeesh....I'm a real blend of cultures and ethnic groups and races...part Anglo, part Hispanic, part Native American,...but I guess the anglo part took over as I'm lily white...LOL...Yet I really did have an argument about my status as Native American...I happen to know full blood Mohawk indians who are a white as an anglos, and native people from South America that have the skin tone of a African-american...even his royal highness, Donald Trump, was a sh*t once...this was when the Pequot Indians were first establishing the now famous Foxwoods under their Native American status...and he said, "Well, they don't LOOK Indian" Sheesh--can't stand Trump..wouldn't mind his money though..LOL

Italian, I'm obsessed, lol. I grew up with an Italian grandma who took me on as one of her own grandkids when my mom was in school, she taught me how to cook too. It was so funny, when I was little about 3 years old is when I learned Italian and I would talk to her just fine and go to school (I started kinda early, lol) and speak english fine and then talk to my real grandma in Spanish and be fine. Now at 26, it's like I mix up all 3 in one sentance and even I don't know what I'm saying, lol. Sadly, I've lost a lot of it for lack of use but I brush up every now and then. Plus the food, soooooooo good and the men sooooooooooo passionate! I do think one is blessed to be born in the US and I'm proud of it but lately it's more of a curse in my life than anything else. I'm treated like I'm not a citizen in my own country, looked at and told that I don't belong and should go "home" despite being born here and the second I show up for an interview suddenly someone who was more than excited about my resume gets this "oh fudge" look on their face and I get asked "can you provide proof that you're here legally" and despite being very well qualified and certified, I can't even get hired at Walmart. All because one man effed up so badly that in order to cover his own a$$ he deflected the problem and pointed a finger at something that had been there all along, immigration but specifically Mexican immigration, as being the new evil. Which in turn makes all Hispanics the thing that threatens our jobs, safety, economy and anything else we as a country feel is wrong. It reminds me of decades ago when the Asian Americans were forced to live in camps right here on uncle Sam's land. We were at war then too. And when Blacks all of a sudden became the enemy, again during a war. And now cities host "clean ups" targeted towards anyone they suspect is an imigrant, which means anyone with a tan. I've literally seen that happen and my mom and I as well as our friends have to travel with all of our documents constantly in case we get pulled over by a white van and locked up for suspision of being an illegal immigrant while in traffic. It happens, I've seen it with my own eyes. All of that ugliness makes me ashamed of my country and at war with myself. OMG longest response ever, lol.

That's insane. My ex is Cree Indian and he's got ghost white skin with jet black hair and eyes, so he looks all mysterious (and umm... hot) but a lot of people think he's Asian cuz of his eyes. Actually his little sister is adopted and I tell him all the time that his parents lied and it's really him. We would've had the cutest kids ever {sigh}.

I would either choose to be the same or being French! *laughs* I don't know but I kind of have a "fling" with the French culture and language. I hope I could be one of them because their working hours are really nice and the art is great! *laughs* Oh, and French women are very sexy but not over the top!

How about a little bit of each? Spain does have a lunch hour and a nap hour so that one sounds good to me.

Well, I like to be an American, I wanted to experience to live in a strong country. I wanted to know how does it feel to be an American. Because most people in our country say that Americans are liberated people and I wanted to experience it. I also wanted to be a European, like Spanish, German, Italian, French, Swedesh, or Dutch. I wanted to be like them because they are tall people. They have a good race when it comes to height and other physical characteristics. I wanted to be tall like them... hahaha

Hawaii is part of the US, it's a state so to be born there is to be born American. I know it's a different culture than on the mainland though.

I guess I am Hawaiian because my family has been here in Hawaii for 100 yrs. But to the native Hawaiians I am not of the Blood , yet they tell me to go home to my country, which is here in Hawaii, I have no place to go, I am not accepted by the Hawaiian, or my acestory nation. I really have no place to go. I don't want to be American, I want to be Hawaiin, and the US gov't will not allow me to be Hawaiian, they say I'm a US citizen, but my allegiance is to Hawaii, not US.

I don't always love WHO I am, but I do always love WHERE I am! I do appreciate other cultures... the food, the history, the way of life... but home is here, in Washington State!

Well, I was born and raised in Latvia, but I am Russian by nationality and to tell you the truth I don't want to be any kind of different nationality, Russian is just perfect for me. But I would love to live in USA, because I really love this country.

I am from India and proud to be an Indian. Hindi is prime language in my country. India is a democratic country in which many religions are professed without any fear and so many cultures survive without encroaching on each others. Cricket is main sports game and India won the world cup in 1983.
