When you see the word or country "Nigeria" most probably it is a scam . And in my opinion, it really is a scam. Just think of it, out of millions of people in the world, why would they choose you to be like an informant of fraud or something. I mean, hello?! They call themselves as investigators of fraud or something related to the government and that they are sharing private information such as the amount of money, etc.. And plus, they are even asking for your information which I think you shouldn't be giving. Never give your information especially your credit card or bank account numbers. It's a scam and you better ignore and delete that email, and try to block that address so that it won't send you spam and scam messages anymore..
Best of luck!

This is what I have just found out and read about this kind of emails specially telling you about contacting earlier victims of the fraud and are posing as Nigerian Government Officials or others investigating the fraud in an attempt to get the victims’ money back and will request an up front recovery fee for this service. This is also a scam and should not be trusted.
I am referring you to this url/site -
http://www.buyusa.gov/westvirginia/ngfdletter.html
so we will be aware that there are indeed scam artists who are frequently looking for more victims.

Just another scam! God they think of something different everyday and it makes you wonder if everyone in Nigeria is sending scam e-mails. I get around 10 a week and if I actually had all the money I have won or been left, I would be richer than Bill Gates!

Not everybody is into this my friend. Do you know that in Nigeria the number of people that have access to Internet out of a population of about 140 million is at best about 5%!
It is unfortunate that people are associating all scams to Nigeria but it is not true. But we are doing everything possible to restore the good image of our country.

Definately scam, raydene. I used to get these kind of emails a while ago for weeks. They just want your personal data to sell it or pass it on to others without you knowing.
It´s better to never trust these kind of mails. Just delete them or filter them as spam, I did it and they finally got tired of sending me this kind of rubbish.
Take care.

Of course it is a scam, and you are helping more people be aware of the types of scams that are out there, just waiting to take our hard earned money away, and leave us with egg on our faces. Thanks friend, for bringing this to the front.

When they ask for information like that the alarm bells go off for me. You never give out that sort od info unless you are in a secure area. You need to be able to see a padlock down near the bottom task bar, somewhere on the right. If it's not there they are lying and probably stealing your cookies too. Delete it quickly!

This has fraud written all over it. If I were you, I'd be wary of any emails that
- comes from Nigeria or Africa, sometimes Britain
- depicts a story which involves millions of dollars
- gives you an opportunity to get part or all of that money
- requires you to furnish your personal particulars, and get back to the letter writer or a contact given.
The sweet part is the original letter you get, because it will look tempting and feeds on your greed. If you are tempted and respond, then more demands will follow leading to you losing money that you will likely have to send. It is best to ignore such emails, and just throw it away.

This is purely a Scam. When you get such type of mails it is better to ignore them and not take them seriosly. There are other mails like this stating that you have a won a lottery from UK and they correspond with you. Finally they ask for 400-600pounds as insurance cover for send you 1 million pounds. Beware of all such type of mails.

More than likely this is a fraud, but if not, as long as you aren't giving out any personal information then you should be ok. I think there is a branch of the FBI that deals with stuff like that. You could always ask them if you have been a victim before contacting anyone from emails like this. (plus you could always search out stuff like this on sites like Snopes.com and other hoax/fraud sites to see if anyone else has reported them...)

SCAM
If it was really official they would send a real mail letter and not an e-mail!
I receive those scam mails on a daily basis ... I have (supposedly) won so much money already from those Lotteries from all over the world that I never entered in the first place!!!
Trash it or report it but do not answer it ;-)
