I hate it when people spew out this stupid statement. Of course "they" do it for the money, and so do "you"!
Unless you are a volunteer, you do your job, "For the money". Would you voluntarily accept less money for what you do for a living? Would you complain if you were forced to take a cut in pay? If you had an opportunity to make more money, or have better benefits, wouldn't you consider it?
Guess what folks, "They" are no different from "you". "They" want to get the most out of their investment, so do "you"! "They" want to protect their interests, so do "you"!
So, next time you find yourself saying, "they only do it for the money" stop and think about all the things you do "for the money".

For i said it once and I can defend myself.
Think of this churches that are coming up everyday! You see someone start preaching on the streets, he upgrades himself to buses after that he starts a crusade and in all those instances he asks for offering after preaching. In a few months you see his adverts on tv that there is a breakthrough crusade or something like anointing, in another month he is owning a rented church in one the casinos or movie cinemas in town - i mean the place is a casino/cinema hall the whole week and on sunday it becomes a church! Gosh is this God's house of dwelling or a casino. After another month he builts his own church and he names it after i dont know what - like faith evangelism, hope, jesus, life, others even after their own names! In a year that person owns a nice car, good business, his own mansion and everything nice.
Now my questions is this? How can you name that? Arent such people doing that for moeny? Using the name of God for money? I prefer the ancient churches.

If the person enjoys preaching, and people are willing to pay him to preach, what is the problem?

The man isnt enjoying preaching, he is doing it for money. There is a good example and imagine he is my relative and he confessed to us that he is in business. Right now he owns the bigest bus company in town and also there is one who used to be a thief, right now he is a pastor and he is the one who tells the congregation how much offering to give.

With a culture this based on economics and income, yeah everything we do is about money, even when enjoying ourselves because most things costs money.
But I do think there are different levels of "doing it for the money".
There is those that do it to have money, but chose that excact thing to do rather than anything else, and those that choose to do the thing because it gives money, and probalby more than where they would like to be.
But granted indeed... You cant do much without the involvement of money, its only a matter of how much it concerns you :D

Exactly. We all have our motivations to do things, and money isn't the only one. But to point our fingers at others and accuse them of "only doing it for the money" is pretty childish.

I think we make descisions like "They" do every day.. because in the end, we are "They" to someone else.

This is true. And I don't think there is anything wrong in only doing something for money, anyway.
I do kind of think that people who accuse others of only being in "it" for the money are really complaining that the person doesn't seem to care, though.

True, job satisfaction is important. Usually when I hear the line, it's someone accusing someone else of only caring about money.

Absolutely...money drives just about everything we do, and everyone wants more money then they have.
It doesn't matter how much or how little that you have because everyone wants to improve their financial situation.

I don't remember ever catching myself saying this phrase. I'm with you. Of course if you are doing a job you are doing it for the money. I mean yes it's nice to enjoy your job but would you still be doing it if you weren't getting paid. Probably not.
I love the job that I am doing right now but I might not be doing it if I weren't getting paid. I might still help them out a little just because it's for a great cause but I wouldn't be doing nearly as much as I'm doing right now.

So very true. We all do it for the money. My hours were just cut at work. We are just not that busy during the winter months. They cant pay me for doing nothing.I do like my job. If I could afford to I would still volunteer to do it.

This is very true. I've thought this many times, myself.
