I just can't stop and read the news about a weird pet turtle with two heads. I'd like to know if you have some pets with something unusual and weird too. Please do share. God bless! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070928/ap_on_fe_st/two_headed_turtle_6;_ylt=Aq16nGAOJP1BHU_ZAMeAi0dsaMYA Two-headed turtle goes on display in Pa. Thu Sep 27, 9:50 PM ET NORRISTOWN, Pa. - A pet store has bought a two-headed turtle from a collector and plans to keep it on display, the store manager said. The 2-month-old turtle, actually conjoined red-eared slider twins, fits on a silver dollar. It has two heads sticking out from opposite ends of its shell, along with a pair of front feet on each side. But there is just one set of back feet and one tail. The turtle is apparently healthy, and the species can live 15 to 20 years, said Jay Jacoby, manager of Big Al's Aquarium Supercenter in East Norriton. The turtle has not yet been named. The store would not disclose how much it paid. The same exotic-turtle collector sold another Big Al's store a conjoined-twin turtle about 20 years ago, Jacoby said. The man lives in Florida, but he declined to identify him.

That is almost as cute as the 3-eyed fish in The Simpsons except that was fictional. We used to have really cool turtles in the forest where I grew up. The neighbors use to eat them in soup, but we never did.

There seem to be more and more odd creatures appearing in nature. Once they were oddities, now they seem to be found a lot. Could the changes in our planet be the cause?

We saw this on the news too sweety and my 6 year old daughter burst into tears - she just felt so sad for the turtle, not as you might expect because of the 2 heads but because the poor thing was going to live in a pet store instead of having people who would love it! I once had a cat who never grew past the size of a 8 week old kitten even though he was about 1 1/2 when we had to end his suffering, the poor little thing had a bone deformity and his pelvis was fusing which meant he couldn't even do the toilet properly and had to go to the vets on a regular basis! Even people who didn't like cats loved our little Paddy and he was a very affectionate cat, in fact he was just the best! xxxx

I read about the turtle this morning! Isn't that the most odd thing! I hope that the turtles do well and live well at the pet shop.

I can't say as I have had any strange pets, other than a glassfish that had a punctured swim bladder. I named him Pogo (like a Pogo stick) because it looked like he was jumping up and down in the water while he was swimming. That turtle is absolutely adorable, even if he is a little strange looking. But I have to wonder one thing. How does he decide which way to walk first? LOL Just a thought.

My dog Jessie suffered from species confusion. She thought sometimes she was a cat. She also thought that she was a person, and was rather annoyed that her barks did not come out as words. Apart from that, I do not know about weird pets, but we had this giant marmot or weasel, I did not know what it was, come into our yard. I told my husband that there was probably a mad scientist in our neighborhood and that was the result.

I read about that two headed turtle, they even had a picture of it,that was weird...I do have a rather weird animal. My dog has two sets of teeth, they really look funny.I took her to the vet and he said he could pull one set out, like put her to sleep and do it..I thought about it for a long time.I observed her,and it is not causing her any problems, she eats well and so i decided i would just let her keep both sets....It makes her really unique and she is not hurting, shes fine so why bother...

I couldn't believe this when I read it on Yahoo the other day. It's amazing how nature can turn out creatures like that, ya know? It was cute too. I have seen pictures of two-headed snakes before also.

I had a cat with 8 toes on each paw on the front and 7 on each of the back. The front looked like two 4-pawed feet at the end of each leg. That looked very strange. Esp. when he would wrap each double foot around a couple differend rocks. Then he would puff out his chest and yowl like he thought he was the "Lion King" or something.

wow that's weird! I wonder how they walk? If i was the owner i'd be very protective of them! I think they're two turtles? just conjoined.. like conjoined twins? twin turtles sharing the same body. that is so cute.

I saw that turtle in the news... i thnk it is very weird... i thought siamese twins only occur among humans... maybe it is the product of containated salt water... i hope the turtle/s will live a long life...

In Florida where they breed and raise these turtles for pets, they usually find several unusual turtles a year and they sell these at a premium to buyers that are willing to pay for them. They often get two headed turtles but not often co joined like this one in the story. Even if it grows to maturity and were to be able to breed I do not think that the babies would be abnormal.

Though not my pet, I remember, as a child, seeing a two headed snake.
