Im in a rut now.I did some very small cleaning like picking up things and of course the dishes.Now im behind big time and started cleaning since ths morning and havent stopped yet,only now for a small break.The toys are killing me!Ive told my dughter to pick up stuff but i guessed she slacked off like me.Id like to throw them out the door,dora and all.lol.I think i might be done cleaning the house by the time night comes and i did not expect to spend my saturday doing this all day.Grrrrr.Do you get behind some times and feel like giving up and becoming like some people who have a house like a pack rat lived in it?I cant live like that.:{

I clean every day. I have to, I got three children here and it doesn't take long to get dirty. I do laundry every day or two. I got two boys so clean the toilet every other day too. The sinks, sweeping, beds, dishes, mopping, wiping down tables. Every day Yes and yuck. When I had no kids I would clean once a week. I wouldn't clean ANYTHING, no dishes nothing for a week. It was gross really. I would use a knife to stir my tea if I ran out of spoons. And if I had company coming over the dirty dished I hid in the oven and dirty clothes stuffed under the bed. Truly nasty! HEHE But now the house is always clean, clean, clean. Everything put away.

I don't clean very often. I do the dishes and laundry all the time, but for dusting and vaccuuming... nah, once a month or so. I just have more important things to do - like spending time with my family. It just depends on what's important to you...

Hi jondvl!Im sorry to hear you hurt your back:(Is it your choice to stay at home with your children?If so,im very proud of men who do this.Some men find it hard to except a man staying home to take care of the children,i think they are just jealous,ha,ha.If your children are a little older you can play games with them to get them to help in the chores.I do this with my 4 1/2 year old daughter and she love it.I call it"lets play pickup".The one who helps pick up stuff and put their stuff away is the winner,i mean by beating mommy or daddy,not each other.You should see her fly in the house!I hope you feel better and you will get well soon,just take it easy.:)

I'm very erratic with my cleaning. I'll spend a couple of days keeping everything neat and tidy, and then I get out of the habit, and let things pile up.
I'm just not really very motivated to clean most of the time. There are so many other things competing for my attention, and most of the time I'd prefer to be doing something else.
I do find cleaning a good stress buster when I'm upset or frustrated though.

In this house if I let it go more than an hour or two without some basic picking up then I feel like its gross. My son is 3 so he's into everything and anything he can get his hands on and his favorite hobbie is ripping paper and coloring on walls! My husband (poor guy) works LONG hours so I don't really bother him to do any of the cleaning. I sometimes will let it go a wee bit on my days off but no longer than that!

Hi gabs!I use to clean all the time like there was no end to it,but lately i curl my nose up at it and only do some small cleaning,so if someone came in the door they wouldnt think it was dirty.I thought a vacation would get me out of this rut im in,but it did not help.lol.I think i just need to relax and do some yoga to help.I feel stressed alot of the time and have headaches from it.

It depends..I mean I try to at least tidy up every day and i'm forever doing laundry and the dishes get done every day but as for full blown cleaning on a daily basis...no...My mood swings are just far too intense sometimes, even with my medication and add to that my physical issues/troubles cleaning every day isnt happening..Hell sometimes just gettign out of bed is difficult and painful.. :-/

I don't know why but out of habit I usually do a mild cleaning thing in the bathroom and kitchen daily, and will clean the living room wooden floor only once a week--since I don't have carpeting or rugs I don't have to vacuum ..thank goodness!...I never did finish my fall cleaning thing I started as other things came up...but at least now the closets are all cleared and cleaned out, so since they are so nicely neat now I won't have to clean out again for about a year..LOL---I plan to go over the kitchen with a fine tooth comb next week, want to clean out the cabinets..and I'll need to tackle dusting all my bric a bracs and knicks knacks hanging on my walls of my bedroom..but my apartment is pretty much clean and neat all the time--thank goodness--the only BORING job I really need to do is maybe go through accumulated papers and stuff like that to see which to organize and toss out. I hate doing that!!

I do little clean ups everyday. Like wiping down the kitchen and dining room table. I save all of my really big cleaning like bathrooms and vacuuming for the weekends when I have more time. I usually do a big cleaning blitz on Saturday so that I can relax on Sunday before work on Monday.

i like to think of it as maintaining the place instead of cleaning it everyday. the way i see it if u put away the things that u get done with, or in this case ur kids are done with, then theres not need to clean up all of it at once, like most stuff i like to spread it out evenly so i don't have to do a whole lot at a time. that way there won't be a big huge mess after a couple of days thatll take a very long time to clean. but, this idea has definitely got to be followed strictly or it won't work at all lol cuz its happened to me a lot, but now im getting better and better at it
