Hello friends! There was an old woman in the neighborhood, maybe she's more or less 90 years old. Her family is having a hard time with her because she is already acting like a small kids according to them. Though they love her so much, sometimes they cant help but feel bad.
I find the old woman helpless, And I think she is no longer capable of sensing how she's behaving. Shes like a child. Sometimes she just cry and get mad. And it really breaks my heart to see her think that she was not loved. (In fact she was really loved)
I guess, I dont want to reach the age of 90. I want to die at the state of clear mind... remembering everything that happens. How about you guys? At what age do you want to die?

Well, I can say that your mother is really lucky. MAybe she really took good care of her health when she was young, thats why she's healthy even at her older age. Clean living I guess. We the younger generation should practice it. And just pray that you should be like her with your 90's age. Thank you for your response.

Huh? You really believe that you will die of stroke? Wow! I mean you're the only person I know that has some way of expecting how to die. You're really extraordinary. Your answer is really unexpected... I never thought there would someone in this world who is expecting in a way how she or he will die.
Thank you for your response.

I still want to live to be at least 100. Many people are clear minded even after that. It is not the age that causes the dementia. I do not want to be dependent on others, but I think I will age well.

Yeah you are right. I guess although she is in the state right now that cant recognize and remember things easily, I guess in her heart she knows how much she mean to her family. Its never easy growing old, little by little you grow weaker each day. Love and support from family really matters. Thank you for your response.

Your mom is really strong and I adore her for that. I guess until her old days she want to set a good example to her kids. She just showed you how strong she is even in the days of her life when her strength is slowly been taken away from her. You must be very proud of her.
Thank you for sharing it with us.

I would want to die, if the time came, that I was unable to take care of myself. I don't ever want to have to depend on anybody else. I could never be happy if I were unable to get up and do what I need, and want to do. To me, that would be utter hell, to depend on others, and I would just be too unhappy, and not want to live.

Me too, I dont want to burden others by taking care of me when I grow old. I want to die in the state that my memory gap is still not that much and I will be able to remember things and memories with my loved ones. I dont want to be a bed ridden... I dont know what is the use of living in that way...I can no longer recognize family members... I dont want to reach that time. Thank you for your response.

i think if i become a burden to my family members and I'm just a living mummy, I might as well leave this earthly place than people see me in misery. And if I've know that my life will end in a sickly bed, I'd rather go out to enjoy my final days. Than to suffer in the hospital bed and add up to the daily expense my family would have to pay. In the end, it would be better than for them to suffer the financial burden that I will leave them for my unfortunate lot.

Yeah you are right. I guess anyone will die peacefully the moment he/she knows that everything will go well even without him/her. Your family is in happy and good life. You are happy and satisfied with your life. You already showed and receive love you ever wanted.
Thank you for your response.

You are right in saying that. We have to live by the present. I really enjoy my life as it is right now. There are lots of ups and down and I can never really can tell how many times I was down. Right now, I still sometimes think about the past and what is going to happen in the future. But it doesnt mean that I am not living in my present... sometimes, things just make me wonder.

I would not want to reach the point that I was incoherent and didn't know what was going on in my life. Like you, I would rather die in a clear state of mind. It' so sad to see elderly people that have gotten to the point that they have no clear conception of what is happening or who their family members are.

yeah, I guess its hard to be on that situation... but now I am just wondering if they are aware of what was going on with them... couldnt they at least realize the changes that occur to them. I guess its pretty hard but not for them, because they lost all their worries. They might not even thinking what the others thinking about their behavior. At least they just see teh laughter in the eyes of their beloved one. Thank you for your response.

I can't put an age on it, but when my health and mind goes, that would be a good time to go. They say that old people regress back to childhood. Sounds like a good case of it!

Yeah you are right in it. The moment taht your body and mind felt taht you need to go then its the right time that you can say its time. We cant say when will it be. The only thing taht we can do is make sure that we live our life to the best that it can be. And we made it meaningful. Thank you for your response.

Well I can not say at what AGE I want to die because, everyone ages differently. You can bet there are some 90 year olds who are pretty much healthy. But I'm like you. I want to live until I can live healthily and happily. I want a clear mind for my whole life. And once I can no longer control my behaivors, that is when I would want to go.

me too, I cant imagine living in the days that I can no longer go to bathroom to wash my self or comfort room to pee. I dont want to wear diapers and have my daughter or grand daughter change it for me. I cant take it holding from one furnitures to another just to reach the other side of the house. That is too much for me. Thank you for your response.

I don't think I want to die at any age, but I don't want to die when I am in good condition, then there would be no reason for me to go. While I don't want to be a burden on my family I want to live as long as I can.

Hmmm? then when will you die? You made me think with that. You dont want to die when you are strong and dont even want to be a burden to your family. :)
I guess we cant really choose... this discussion I've started is silly in one way or another.
Anyway, thank you for your response.

Yes you have a point in there, if you are with your loved ones then you will be dreaming of having the longest life possible just to be with them. Just keep on dreaming and give all teh love that you can give to the people you love. In that way, you will never have regrets in your life.
Thank you for your response.

You have touched upon a very nostalgic question.
We as humans have this great ability (or shall I call it requirement) to have people close to us; especially so wheh we look at close relatives. We always want them to stay with us (atleast in eternal contact) and this makes us very sensitive towards them.
In the case you mentioned Lucky, I guess her relatives would always want her to be with them but at the same time, they would have wanted her to die peacefully since they also cannot tolerate her misery. I have had this experience with my grandfather where we were very charged up emotionally since he had to suffer for a full 6 years before his demise.
Coming to myself, I do not have any preferance on the age but when it is comes, I hope and pray it comes in a flash without me troubling myself and/or my near and dear ones. If you want me to point a number, I think I would say about 70 since our immediate family might be settled, kids married and probably have some good time to spend with the grand-children too.
Again, the human mind alway wants more - so you never know :-)

I know a guy that is 92 years old and is happy as can be.. He loves life he's a funny guy and yeah he's dating my grandma.. Their has gotten to be something the matter with this lady to be like this.. Sometimes when old age sets in, some older people gets alls timers (SP) disease and maybe that's what she has.. Maybe... Most of the time people that have this act like this.. It's something people get at that older age or maybe she's sick and don't know how to control herself and acts that way cause that's the only way she knows how.. I am really not sure.. Anyway to answer your question I wanna be as old as I can until god takes me home.. Because not everyone gets the chance to live until they are 90-100 years old.. It's gods way of saying it's not your time yet..

Unfortunately... you cannot choose when you are going to die.
And believe me... most people who make it to 90 without major health problems... don't want to die.
I have seen quite a few women of that age who were remarkably healthy. There is not a set age for being sick or senile. It is an individual thing. And it is half genetic and half a reflexion of your lifestyle.
People without major health problems today can expect to live up to 90. Even with health problems... many makes it to 80.
When I was 20... I could not imagine being 30. And when I was 30... I could not imagine making it to 40. Today I am in my fifties and it does not really worry me anymore. I take it a day at a time and see what happen.

Wow that was really amazing! I mean I perfectly see your point and IO guess you are right. Our health does not depend on our age. I just really dont want to reach the point of nothing to remember at all... no matter what the age. If will be given a chance... lols. I just hope when it start to happen, I will not forget this simple wish of mine. Thank you for your response.

I'm almost 74 and I've been acting like a small kid all my life. MY family loves me and I love them all back. I never feel bad and neither do they. They Laugh and have a good time with me.I try hard to be like a little child. Sometimes I can pull it off very well. I never cry or get mad because I'm laughing too hard. Almost nothing bothers me! Now I'm laughing at this silly Posting. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. My mind isn't clear right now cause I think this is so funny!
If you think it funny also, please laugh too.

That woman is lucky to reach the age of 90. In our generation today, the life span of people have decreased.
Old people acting like child is normal. There a lot of old people go through this kind of condition. All the family members must be patient and continue to love their old parents.
Sometimes they have depression and feels that they are just a burden to the family. So it is best to feel your love to them.

Yes in our generation today, I think that its a little more harder to reach that age with a sharp mind and healthy body. Maybe its because of the food we eat, lack of exercise, the polluted environment we are in, and the chemicals of the instant foods. There are lots of things taht made life easy nowadays.... and it also make dying easy to achieve. Thank you for your response.

It's been my constant prayer that if God will take me, maybe it be during the times where my kids are all grown ups already. Just for me to make sure that they are already living and heading a life of their own. With a family of their own and a very stable career. I just want to make sure that they will be all okay when I leave.
