I am honoured to speak the greatest and most noble language in the world. One reason being that I enjoy American Idol(which is in English).

I've read your comment to the last response and I must correct a few mistakes. British empire wasn't the greatest empire of all. There wasn't even an empire. Roman empire was the greatest of all, and I don't mean to be rude, but you shouldn't just guess.
Nowadays, you can say that most of the "achievers" speak english, but certainly not in the past.
And the most incorrect of all is saying English has words for everything. That is absolutely incorrect. First of all, the number of words English has is small, at least smaller than portuguese or spanish, for instance. Languages that came from Latin have more words, even though English seems to be incorporating more technology related words to its vocabulary.
And to even think that a language is noble because of American Idol is just stupid.

Just curious, why do you think English is the greatest and most noble language?

There is quite a number of reasons:
English is the language of the British, who had the largest empire in all history. Not even Genghis Khan's Mongol empire matched it. Partly because of this English is spoken worldwide though its speakers are fewer than those of the Chinese language, for example.
The greatest inventors, discoverers, mathematicians, achievers etc of the past and present were and are primarily English.
The English language has words for virtually every idea or thing, though they have borrowed words from other languages.
The richest and most powerful country in the world is English speaking.
The greatest singers, songs, music, actors, movies, etc are English speaking or in English. I have discovered that the French have a knack for translating English movies into French.
I guess there are other reasons, including my own sentiments, that make me think English is the greatest and noblest of languages.

I also like American Idol and i cannot wait for the next season to start... i live in a country where English is like the second language since it is taught in all schools and a lot of the subject are taught in English... also almost all people in my country know how to speak and read in English but of course in different levels...

Well I am in a totally position here, since I remember I never like english, I remember when I was in school I used to say why do I have to learn english, I am never going to use it (in my country we speak spanish), but then I had to come to the states, and I did not have any other choice then learn the language... and here I am in the states speaking english, I am not the best in english, but I keep trying!

I like American Idol! Great showcase of talents there!
My country is the Philippines so English is not our mother tongue. I am quite comfortable in using English as that is widely used in our country. In my workplace we can only speak English, my kids speak English in school (but Tagalog-English at home). I cannot say that I like English better than other languages. It's just that it's being used everywhere and I have to use it. I would love to be able to speak Chinese, Japanese, French, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, etc, but unfortunately we don't have many venues where these language are encouraged.
