I am a Calvinist Christ who believes that God saved me, and one of my sister-in-laws is a Baptist who believe that they choose God. During the time, we were visiting, she spent most of her time watching Christian Baptist shows, while I spent doing things, getting on myLot, and reading my Bible twice, once in the am, one in the evening, and saying grace at meals. Now she thinks because I do not watch all the Christian programs my belief is not as strict. Yet I am against gambling, living an ungodly life, etc.
Now is the way you live your life more important or is it the amount of Christian programs you watch that counts?

Hi suspenseful,Anything you read or learn by television is only as good as you apply it. If you apply the scriptures you read, then that is much better than your sister-in-law, watching and listening to a preacher and not applying it to her life.. I think even reading the Word, unless you take action, doesn't do as well.
So yeah, it counts much more to live it, than to watch it..
Hope that helps, blessings..:)

That's what I believe. I live my life as a Christian and that is what counts.

i dont watch any Christian program, because i have no time. i am a single mom and working as well. i am not agaainst people who watch it but we have to live life according to it. Watching wont makes us fulfill anything. we should live by the Word of God...knowing it or memorising it will be not much of a help.

I do not have much time to watch much Tv programs except in the evenings. I read my Bible and I do have a Bible program on my computer, plus I go to church, take Bible Study. One should live their life and not rely on watching others on Tv.

I enjoy Christian tv also, and you can learn a lot that way. But, "We are judged by our fruit"...we are to set a good example of the Christian life by the life we ourselves lead. We can watch and read and listen all we want to Christian programs, but if we don't implement some of the values and teachings we hear into our lives...what good does it do?

That is what I say. I saw my mother-in-law watch Christian programs, one in particular, and even though she did live a good life, I wondered, she does go to her church, and they probably have bible studies. Why can't she and the other ladies go there? Also since my sister-in-law is a Baptist, there are many close where she lives. She does not have to go all the way to her home town, and that means she can attend the church twice a day instead of just Sunday morning. It is not like me, there is only one church in PEI of my faith and it is a planted church, but I am very careful of what I watch, and I read my Bible often.

you were visiting her, and she spent most of her time watching christian shows on the boob tube? How very rude and unchristian of her. She can watch all the tv shows she wants, but that will never make her a good host, or a good person. Perhaps she says you are a bad christian because she feels guilty for treating you like a stranger.

I'm not a christian but to answer in a christian way I would say know that someone could watch all the christian movies or whatever they want and it would not mean they were better than you they could even be a worse person you never know. Just like those preachers that will moleste kids. They were preachers but they still were sinful. It should matter on how you heart is not on how others say what you should and shouldnt be doing. Your heart never lies. Others do.

I say the way you live is more proof of being a Christian than what you watch.

One should live their life. I can watch all the programs and all the preachers, but it does not good if I live wrongly.
