Im sound asleep and wake up to this pinching feeling and just moved my foot thinking it was in my dream.I come out of my dream to this crawling feeling on the top of my foot.I jump out of bed,turn the light on and throw the sheets back and see this insect crawling fast for the corner of the blanket.In the meantime my boyfriend is yipping sounding like beaker from the muppets,mee,meee,meee!Light!Meee,meee!!Beep!Shut the light!I grab a sock and squish the bugger,its quite hard too.Its dead,my foots itchy and its 3:00 am in the morning.I never slept after that and i am scared now to sleep in my bed again.Did you ever have one in your bed before?Where do they come from and how do they get in our beds?:{:{Ewww.

When I was a little kid I lived in a cockroach-infested house. They got into EVERYTHING, including crawling on you and getting into bed with you while you were sleeping. It could have been something like that. If that's the case, you might want to hire an exterminator.

It wasnt a cockroach,i ve never seen something like this bug before thats why i thought it was a bedbug.I didnt know bedbugs were microscopic(duh on me)maybe it came home with my boyfriend,he works in the woods and it couldve hitched a ride with him.It must of bit me before or my boyfriend because at the foot of the bed there was little blood stains that i found and we were wondering why we had these red marks on our feet or legs,uughh!I took the bed all apart today,ha,ha and vacuumed everything.:{

That wasn't what's called a bedbug, Peanut. Bedbugs are microscopic and you wouldn't have seen it crawling away. I would imagine this insect had either come in with your laundered bed linen, or crawled in through an open window or something, making its way into your bed. I'm sure it's a one-off occurrence anyway... certainly not a bed bug. Brightest Blessings.

O.k now i know,ha,ha.Im not dingy though but since it was in my bed i thought it was a bed bug,lol.It was half an inch big,oval shaped,brown and its body was flat and very hard to squish.It ran fast when i tried to get it and ugly!Yuck.Im scared now because i wear shorts to bed,i dont feel to have something crawl where its not wanted,ha,ha.My boyfriend works in the woods everyday,maybe it crawled on his pants and took a hike here for some late night munching.lol.:)

We lived in a little (pop. 7) town for awhile and for about 2 months every morning I'd wake up with 2 little holes in my arm about a quarter of an inch apart. The first few weeks I didn't notice it much and didn't worry about it. Then I thought maybe it was from outside. Finally, one day I decided to clean the stuffies that were on our headboard and low and behold, a BIG, FAT SPIDER was in there. This thing was a good 2-3" around. I managed to kill it with Raid and then beat it with the can for good measure. I never had the bites again so evidently it was biting me each night to feed. EEwwwww makes me shiver to just think about it. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

When you mentioned in Darkwing's response how your hubby had been in the woods, my first thought was it couldn't have been a tick?? But they are very small. Bedbugs can reach a 1/4 of an inch though. Bedbugs are getting to be a real problem all around and more common, almost every hardware store near me had adds in their window on how to eliminate them. My friend who now lives in CA has had to get rid of not one, not two, but three mattresses already and she's only been there two years! I have the most disgusting old mattress going, don't ask how old it is, and I long for a new one, and so many times I'll see these perfectly beautiful like new mattresses out in garbage piles along the block, and I'm thinking gee, wouldn't mind taking it home to replace mine, but then it's like whoa, why is such a beautiful like new mattress being thrown out..and I'm guessing bedbugs.. here's a link about them http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/bedbugs/

Well I think you're going to have to consider some kind of extermination thing cause if you see one, good chances you have more! Yuk

Hi pyewacket.oreocookie put a picture of a bedbug and thats exactly what was in my bed right down to the T,lol.I dont understand how some people think they are microscopic and the truth is that they are not.The only bugs i know that are microscopic are dust mites.I took a microscope one time and saw some on an old bedroom side table that was my boyfriends when he was a teenager.We threw them out and bought new ones,ha,ha.My idea,lol.

That wasn't a bedbug, they are microscopic. Nope. Never had that happen. Maybe I'm not delicious to the bugs. Well so much the better. I need my sleep and I don't need insects biting me.

That would freak me out! Seriously, I don't blame you for being scared about it. I don't even know what one looks like, but I'm fairly sure I've never had one in my bed. The only bug I've ever had in my bed was when I was 10, and I started sleeping with my light on again. I seemed to attract a few bugs with that light.
