How long was the longest relationship that you've had? Years? Months? Days? What do you think made it last?
For me it's 2 years and what made it last was a friendship at the base of the relationship that allowed us to work through issues easier and allowed us to remain close friends after.

My longest relationship was probably 1.5 years, we were friends before and turned into boyfriend and girlfriend stuff. But I don't know how to count my relationship with my current boyfriend *laughs*, we have know each other for 5 years, but we still haven't met! *laughs* Maybe I should start counting from the date we meet, otherwise, we would be together forever! *laughs*.

I would start counting since the time you offically started to use the term "boyfriend" and "girlfriend".

I think my longest relationship will be one and a half year. Not really sure how it last, maybe seeing each other everyday? Haha. However, I don't think it last, if it will last, then why we have reached the end?

6 years!!!! We broke up once (for 1 month) during our 5th year.On our 6th year, the realtionship became rocky and he just stopped communicating. I also felt tired of our relationship. After that, we never talked and never had the chance to become friends again. . and will never have. I married 9 months after.

I got to know my hubby via the internet in 1999. We fell in love in 2000 and we got married last year. Now we live together in Finland. So we've had a relationship for over 7 years so far and that's my longest relationship.
What made it last? He's my best friend and we're committed to each other. ;-D

I've only had one relationship and it's been almost 5 and a half years now. We've been married for almost 4 years. We've had some tough times, but what will make it last is that we are best friends, we trust each other completely, and we know when to let things go, and not make a big issue about the things that are really not going to be important in the long run.

Among my suitors I just got two. hehehe I am kinda picky.
In my first bf, we reach almost 7 years. hehehe I accepted him when I was 13 years old.*laughs* But honestly, it was planned by my peers to accept him for him to be a good guy. It was because he used to be an attention getter which we found him that rough. But then I fell for him. ahhaha
Our relationship lasted because I had found him another girl. hehe It was ok. We were still best of friends though. :))
My second suitor lasted for more than 2 years and that was my hubby now.:)

Hi,
For me it's 2.5 years and continuing.I feel that we have a very good understanding about each others and used to help each other in bad times and that's what makes it lasting for long.
Cheers,

I have my five-year long relationship but we did not end up together. He found someone new during the time that we are still very much on. It really hurt deeply but I let him go. That's how much I love him that time. I am after his real happiness and truest love. Me and my hubby is five years married now. Still going strong and hoping this is for lifetime already.

Almost 10 years with my husband. I'm sure that what made it the long a relationship is our love and respect for each other :)

My 1st relationship was my longest and most beautiful. The only thing against was that i smoked and he didn't. But we had all, we had dancing even if u were the only one on the scene, we have flowers, he used to bring me flowers verytime he came to visit me . One time he brought me a rose after traveling with train 12 hours. But he was too stupid than and i was too young and thought i can meet the man of my dreams who has all. I am married now and have a very beautiful girl who will turn 3 in november. Sometimes i say it would have been better with my 1st fiance sometimes i am pleased with my hubby lol but i love my daughter. But i missed that romantic things, the dance and the flowers.

44 years with Hun, 32 years with my best friend and her hubby... and I add 'and still counting' to both of these. We all really like each others' company... there are no shortages in the good times department!

I only have 2 relationships to date because I had my first boyfriend only after few months with my 18th birthday. So it's only my ex-bf and my husband. With my ex-bf, we reached 1 year and and 10 months. I am hoping a lasting relationship with my husband because I want him to be my last and longest person to be in a relationship with.

My longest relationship is the one im in right now. Four years next month and its fantastic. We met when I was a freshman in high school and he was a junior and we have been together ever since. Here is the key to our relationship-its not all about being physical. Dont get me wrong, when we are its more than fulfilling and fun when we are but we dont put tension on it. We are BEST FRIENDS. He lives at home with my mom and I, I am only 18 so it makes sense that im still at home and he is in a rough patch with money-cant afford to live alone. We can have the house to ourselves for a weekend and all we do is watch movies, sleep in late, make inside jokes, i bake he eats, we just have a good time and neither one of us ever brings up being physical. When we want to be we just both know and it just happens. Otherwise youd see us and we hold hands but we probably just look like really good friends and i love that. We know that we love each other and it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. The three keys are-in order- Communication, Compromise, and Being Friends.
