No, there is not going to be a Final Fantasy 8 movie (that I know of). This is a fictional thing. But if there were a movie made from this game with live actors, who would you like to play the characters? I'll give some of my picks.
Matron (Sorceress Edea): Catherine Zeta Jones
Zell Dincht: Travis Wall (from "So You Think You Can Dance" season 2)
Irvine Kinneas: Travis Fimmel (model)
Rinoa Heartilly: Kristen Kruek (Lana Lang from "Smallville")
Squall Leonheart: Chase Crawford (Nate Archibold on "Gossip Girl")
"Library Girl": Cori Yarckin (Singer, Rock Star)

The cast you just submitted seemed to be good, since I am not aware of the other celebrities you mentioned there. But there's one particular actress that I would prefer to play Rinoa's role, a filipina actress that somehow resembles her in many angles.
She's Rica Peralejo, I saw most of her pictures that looks exactly like Rinoa. I added a picture for you to look at, hope that it also passes your taste!;)

Rica Peralejo is also a good choice to play Rinoa. I wonder if she can speak English? I guess if she doesn't, she can always have a voice over yeah? I think I commented on your user name on a different topic. Maybe I was just thinking of it but never actually did, I don't remember lol.

Hmm this is surprisingly hard... I mean, there are quite a few actors/actresses that I would LIKE to be in this hypothetical film, but none of them would fit the parts! And then there are the ones that would have been so good... ten years ago, and are now too old for the part. Ohhh this is hard! *continues thinking*

I can't think of a cast off the top of my head. I like yours though because next to no one on there seriously annoys me (annoys me, yea, but not to the despicable or worse level, at least not yet).

lol that was a funny comment. Thanks for replying. I'm still trying to figure out who could play Quistis. I saw someone on that cosplay website that would totally work if she could act. Then again, I guess she could get acting lessons if it came to that. She looks JUST LIKE Quistis too! She made a SeeD uniform and Quistis' normal clothes and modeled them on the site. I can't remember her name or user name though. She is really impressive though!

Thanks for the reply! I don't know how much it would cost, but it would be up to Square-Enix to decide that, if they ever do decide to make a movie in the first place of course. This is just one of those fantasy type scenarios that you ask "what if?".
I just thought of a perfect match to play Selphie. I saw some episodes of a recent Power Rangers show (within the past 1-3 years I think it was), and there was an girl who looked part Asian, and she had the same hairstyle as Selphie. I don't remember which season it was that she was on, but I think she was a pink ranger.
