When I was just a kid I would read in the dark and my mom would say to me your going to wreck your eyes. I didnt believe that. I always had great eyesight. I just started wearing glasses in the last year just for reading and on the computer. So do you wear glasses all the time or just for reading?

I also read in the dark when I was younger and my mom also told me that I was going to ruin my eyesight if I kept doing that. I didn't listen to her though. Eventually my eyesight got worse and worse and I had to start wearing glasses in high school. In college I switched to contacts though, and I wear them everyday.

OMG...funny you should bring this up..I had to go to the eye doctor because I was seeing Aura's...I have a stigmatism in both eyes but I refuse to get glasses...No way am I going to get them...I will put it off as long as I can..I know it is stupid but I just don't want them...I have always had 20/20 vision and I think it maybe scares me to think I need help to see....Actually I started to laugh when he askes me to read the chart...

I started wearing spec seen I was 13, previously I feel that someone whose wearing spec its look more smarter and a kind of fun. I were only wear glass when I'm in class or in front of computer. I need it to wear it at night else I cant see clearly through the light around the road. to be frank I'm all the time hanging out with friends until midnight. Most of my friends prefer the way I'm wearing spec, I don't know why... Previously I will only wear it when I'm reading, but seen my eye sight power is increasing, I had been advised to wear it all the time.

I was always an avid reader but eventually the time came when the words were out of focus. I went to an optometrist and came out with spectacles and a purse that was $400 lighter. A few years later I went to get them checked again at a different place this time and was rold I didn't need prescription glasses...just magnifiers.
I'm getting dizzy spells now and sometimes feel light headed so i think the time has come when i really need proper glasses.
My sisters began wearing glasses them in their late teens, I'm in my mid fifties my brother turned 51 this year, is a scientist and still doesn't wear glasses.

But the dizzy spells could be something else. And feeling light headed is a sign of something else. Now I will be worrying about you. Please take care of yourself. Wow that is really impressive about your brother. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Hi TerryZ. Well, I think I am wearing spec since I was 10 years old. I might sound stupid but last time I was feeling that wearing spec look, professional? Haha. Alright, so since I was 10 until now I don't really have good eyesight so I am wearing spec every day and all the time except I am sleeping.

I wear eyeglasses because i have this astigmatism, that makes my eyes feel so comfortable... But then my eyeglasses still irritates me to do my work, i cant move that well, unlike when i dont wear eyeglasses...
One more thing, i have a good vision, but i can't see in the dark, a simple dark is a blindness for me...

I only started wearing glasses a few years ago - and it was because of the computer... I wear them all day, but usually take them off at night when I get home. I see fine without them - to drive, read, computer... - but after a while they start to water if I don't wear my glasses.

I wear glasses for reading fine print if the light is not that good. I can really concentrate and make out what it says, but if the light is dull I have to put on my reading glasses. I forgot them on our trip and my husband was always asking me to look at the map to see if we were on the right highway (even though there were signs telling us we were on I-78 or I-80 or whatever it was.) and how long it would be before we reached such a such a page.
And when I am reading the small print on the medicine bottle, I need my glasses. I guess they think everyone in the world is nearsighted.

I'm supposed to wear glasses but I never wear them. I have started wearing them when I drive in the evening because I've noticed a little bit of a difference when the light is low. My eyes aren't that bad, they told me they were barely bad enough for a prescription. I need them because when he would cover my left eye and then move to cover my right eye, my left eye would flick out to the side before focusing. So they said with that I would need my glasses on while driving.

OH boy, that's just like me. Only that I got my first glasses only for reading and the computer a few years ago, and now I"m noticing that I can't read small print for beans LOL It feels strange and I feel a bit helpless when I want to read some thing and don't have my glasses with me.
