Deadly Beauty Sins?

What do you think? What would you regard as deadly beauty sins?
I think they could include a bunch of stuff but the first thing which comes to my mind would be "hating what you already have". If you hate your body, if you hate your looks, if you can't embrace what you have, how could you excel the confidence and the unique beauty that you already have?
What about you? What do you regard as beauty sins?

I would have to say that a very common beauty sin that any people commit at some time in thier life or another would be over-plucking your eyebrows. I really don't like that look where there are only like 2-3 hairs left and the rest is drawn in with a pencil.

I think one sin is trying to conceal every single flaw you have by caking on makeup. It ends up looking much worse and you look plastic and older. I see many women with SO much makeup on that they just look dreadful. I love makeup but it is supposed to enhance your looks not conceal who you are. The pic below is Janice Dickinson, the ex "supermodel". Check out HER make up. ACK!

True! I watched her show and her makeup is really THICK! *laughs*, I agree that makeup is supposed to enhance the feature you already have, just that many people don't understand that!

Great! I am happy that you are happy with what you have. I just hope more ladies would feel the same way about themselves.

I think it is deadly when people judge others by their own rather narrow standards of beauty. I've known women who are so artificial that they will not set foot out of their homes without full makeup, and I think if their husbands or children had some accident or got really sick, these women would sit down for half an hour and put all their makeup on before taking their loved ones to the hospital. Really, I think if the ambulance driver were knocking at the door these women would not even go open it up until they had their hair fixed and their faces done. Talk about deadly sins, lol. But they probably think I am committing a deadly sin too by refusing to play the "beauty game" and looking just the way I am.

*laughs* So true! I think beauty really relays to the confidence one has on her own. I do makeup all the time and yet I am really comfortable without makeup if I am going down for McDonald's or something simple. And of course, it wouldn't make sense not going out at least without makeup *laughs*. I like how you describe it though, some ladies are just so "over the top"!

I agree with you that's the #1. #2 is smoking, it causes yellowing of the skin, dryness, wrinkles and premature aging. See, aren't you glad you quit?

*laughs* Yes I am glad, at least now with my gum hurting, I don't feel the need to suck on something!

The beauty sins according to me:1. So much make-up a person looks like a clown or a street walker. Make-up should inhanse what you have, cover flaws, add radience, do one of those, not try to do all of them. It's one thing if you are a clown or the other one. It's another if you're going to church (and not a clown church) and you look that way. Or a job interview (and not to be a clown again).
2. Caked-up make-up. When it starts to form ridges. My skin is dry, so I have to wear wet make-up or put a little oil on my skin. If I don't or I use water, it dries and cakes and flakes off.
3. A person thinks their clothing is supposed to fit like they're a sausage in a sausage casing. They stuff themselves into it. Clothing should be loose enough for people to breathe and move.
4. Heals so high that the wearer keeps falling off them. Fashion shouldn't lead people to the hospital with sprained ankles or broken bones/carteledge.
5. Following the latest style, even if it makes you look awful or feel unhappy. Every once in awhile yellow is in style. That color brings out flaws in skin, etc. Very few people can wear it well. But if it's in style, tons of people do. Yellow khaki was the most putrid color on most people, and thankfully, most didn't buy it. That's part of what trying on clothes is for.
6. Not having fun. Wearing clothes because you're expected to wear certain ones. Wearing make-up the same way all the time. There are times when you might actually be a clown or wanting to wear wild make-up for a night out... or a night in. Looking at, trying on, clothes, make-up, perfume, etc. should be fun. Take care

I agree with all of those you have mentioned, especially the Yellow phenomenon. Yellow could be really awful if you don't have the right skin color and look! Every time yellow is in style, I would imagine a bunch of lemons and bananas on the streets!
