I hate it when people here in mylot ask me to be my friend and then they send me a message with a link to their homepage on a whoknowswhat site paying them for referrals..I am ready to accept any friend but this makes me feel very bad. I don't want to share your business. I want to share your thoughts and passions and interests and I am giving you mine as long as I can. And what about you? Does it happen to you, too? How do you feel about this?

Yes, it feels bad indeed. As you know by now that I am here for friendship and sharing my thoughs on various issues. Obviously, when you accept somone as friend and get a link that doesnot live upto your notion of friendship, it does feels sad! On the other hand, when I get beautiful friends in ppl like you, I feel blessed. Thanks for being my friend and making my life so beautiful. smiles..

Well, as they say, what goes around often comes around and before you know it the greedy buggers who where only there to get you to make them rich will find themselves in a rather lonely place while the new friends that you make in the process of being on mylot will add something special to your life.

I also hate it when someone asks me to be their friend and then writs, 'LOOK AT MY HOMEPAGE!" or something like that, and it is a how to make millions without really trying page. Mind you, I love getting money from myLot, who doesn't? And I am sure that you or anyone else is not going to ask myLot to keep the money unless it were for the purpose of donating to a cause, etc. But I love the discussions, I love to write, and I like to learn about things. Mind you I have not deleted anyone who gave me a homepage showing how I can be fabulously wealthy, I just glanced at it, and then went to their discussions which were other than telling me how to increase my bank account.

after reading all the good suggestions I got here, I have started having a look at people's profile before accepting a friend...just to make a little selection...after all we are not supposed to be friends with everybody in our life, are we??

I hope you get used to that maribea, I realized that we cannot avoid such actions as that since many people rely too much on that net for money. I was like you before, because I started here in Mylot and this is the only time I joined a PTP site. Many have made requests on me to befriend them and be added on their list, then later on receive tons of nonsense scam sites to be their downline. Well I delete them, because I'm just here to enjoy and payment is just a bonus for me. Just take a look at those who've been here for a short time, compared to me, I've been here for 10 months now and yet my post count is still at around 3000. It only means that I carefully choose some posts I respond or make, since I love to mingle and discuss meaningful subjects with other people. Right now, I don't care if I have less friends on my list as long as I enjoy their posts and having fun conversing with them..

sure, I am with you: it is not quantity but quality that makes a good friend list. I am not so active as you or many here but I do share your interest for good and enjoying discussions. Of course I am sure we can be very different from each others so maybe there are people here whose main concern is money. Nothing bad. We are meant to be different but we can choose our friends according to our passions and interests.

I always check out their profile first and see what they are posting about - if it's all 'Hey I made $1000 yesterday' and crap like that I reject them - if they have not taken part in a discussion that I recognise, I reject them. It's sad, but I don't need those type of 'friends', so I take the stance, that if it looks like they're just randomly contacting me - they get rejected...

maybe it would be wiser. Honestly I accept any friend request because this is the way I found my beloved friends here and they found me..

Same.. I too hate it ..!! That people here are so proffessional kind that they make some friends here to get some good amount of refferals in other sites for them..! Now that is so mean. I like it when I meet some people with whom I really want to share my discussions. I can share my opinions with. Those people are the one who should be friends!! Earlier I did the same I approved all the friend request I got. But now its of no use..unless and until you don't get some real good friends here!! :)

maybe that they are showing us their most important interest and so it would be wiser I was told above to look at the profile before deciding if we share the same interests!!!

I just recently got a new friend on here. He requested it, and I accepted to see what would happen. Nearly instantly I recieved a message from him with his ref link to yuwie. Messaged him back that that was spamming, and unwanted, his responce again had a ref link. Then he proceeded to spam my comments box on my profile with his ref links. Finally I got fed up and told him that once more, I would complain to Yuwie and hope he gets deleted.

Oh, yes, it happens on all social network sites. People are just people; I like to know all of my friends, before I can listen to what they want to tell me. I don't mind when my best mylotters are sending me something, but I just ignore people I don't know.

I read here some different opinions ,the good site of it or..... Happened to me twice this week and I agree that is good to try share with others any good site that pays(I work with online making sites too)but I don't agree with the way they did. I just except them friend request and the next thing I saw was a pm with them referral link for them site.At least I wait read few more words.Try learn something more about them.Nothing wrong to be little more polite ,a simple *how are you?my name is.....*I fell the only thing that care was money ,nothing else, they don't see me like a person so I prefer stay away from this kind of people.

this is exactly what disturbs me..I mean, nothing against money making sites even though I am not much into them myself..but when you greet me I wish you were interested in me..anyway, maybe sometimes they only want to share a good thing...I don't know but my first reaction is..I am annoyed!!!

I think we can blame them for doing somthing like that. And I can blame you either ti feel something like this. People know mylot as a site that can makes us earn some money. But I think not all of the people here just thinking about money on their first priority

when I discovered mylot, I meant it a site for discussing and writing and only afterwards I discovered you could be paid. But this is only my private road. So yes many people can consider this a place where only earn money..but I am happy that there are others who share my idea, too. so let's celebrate our being different

i think that tose people should go out there and learn how social interaction is supposed to be: friendship, and not purely money based. myself, i post on mylot firstly becouse i like it, and secondly for the money. i think that more people should consider this.

it is just a sort of good manners. I think you are right. As somebody wrote before, maybe there is no need to wonder about sharing interests if making money is a common interest. just wait a bit until we can better know each other.

Yeah, It happened to me a lot too. So I stopped accepting new friends here all together. It's not worth it. It would be one thing if you had posted a discussion on wanting to find other ways of making money online. That's why we post discussions here.

I accept anyone for friends. I have not been offered money-making "deals" however. I personally don't mind them, however. Some of the ones out there, if you know how to do it and the site is honest, can be quite good. MyLot doesn't pay people enough to independently support themselves, so I would say that no, I don't use the site for money-making. I use it to get information, to learn. The money is just a bonus.

It has been happening to me a LOT and I really don't like it. these are from people who I just accepted as friends, not people who I have come to "know" from posting. It seems they just asked to be friends to send the link with their referral code. I really don't want those letters. I am too busy to even be here let alone anywhere else. I do understand wanting to get referrals and make more money and such but I always politely decline. I do wish people wouldn't send me a friend's request JUST to send me a letter like that. I haven't removed anyone but I may if they keep pushing me. Usually when I say no thanks they don't reply or say they reply back with understanding and that's cool. But there is one person who is pushing, pushing, pushing me to just sign up and they will get credit and I simply do not want to. So yeah, it can be annoying for me.

I think that time is an important issue..I don't want to spoil my free time seeing that is very very little and therefore I am trying to choose well before committing to a person..so yes..for me and other people like you these kind of mails are too time consuming and are not the right way to deal with "this sort of business"

Well i have to tell the truth. I've registered here to get some money too. But there are some important fields i know to find more about like health and best cure for some diseases and a chat comunity is the best place to find it. But don't see what's wrong to get refferals too on sites who pay you too.

my dear, I do agree with you. There is nothing bad in wanting to use money making sites and to find referrals..but I don't think it polite when you greet somebody asking..oh do you want to do this or that??? we don't behave like this in everyday life...it is just this that bothers me..apart from this, I am not into paying sites but of course you can be..we can have different tastes
