Yes, I have the same thoughts before, but the Bible tells us that we are all sinners and fall short of God's righteousness(Romans 3:23,10). To furthere explain, James 2:10 says that even if we do 9 of the 10 commandments we still fail. It is telling us that man cannot be justified by our own works but rather with our Savior Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24-26, Romans 5:1) The Bible tells us that the way to get to heaven is through Jesus (John 14:6, Acts 16:30-31)

topei,
Can you just let me know where is heaven and hell located?
I mean I am reading about all the new planets discovered in space by Nasa. They have made amazing discoveries about this universe and other universe, but I wonder sometimes, how come NASA has never bumped into heaven or hell.
If you could just let NASA know where it is located (I understand that if Bible is written by GOD or GOD's word, your god should have mentioned it somehere in the bible), NASA can easily find it out and probably, we can travel it via spaceship there!!!
What Say!!???

hi... nice to meet you... This is a really nice discussion you've put... It really makes a person think.... I believe it is something which connat be judged by us... it is for the Lord our god to decide that fate for us.. It is a mere belief and hope that if we do our best not to be led astray by the works of the deevil who puts tries to rub the fine line between the right and wrong in our lives using various human desires, especially our darkest and deepest desires and wants to make us commit sin in such a way that our mind knows we commit sin and yet commit the sin... The only way i believe is to not commit sin and try to follow the way given to us by our lord jesus christ so when we reach the gates of heaven for jugdement we can repent for our sins and be forgiven..... It is all in the faith in our lord god and his son our saviour jesus christ..

But is it possible for a person not to sin? As the Bible said, all have sinned, no one is righteous (Romans 3:10,23). And even if we were able to atleast obey 90% of God's command the Bible says it is nothing (James 2:10)
The Bible teaches of a Savior, the one way to get to heaven. I think if we put our trust on the Savior and depend on his promise of eternal life we are saved.
(John 3:16, John 14:6, Acts 16:31, I John 5:13)
Thanks for replying

no no one can guess because we really dont know what mistake we are doing in daily life some mistake we can realize but some thing we will do without even doing it so we cant calculate the number of sin and good things exactly so its my opinion that we cant calculate

well, if you beleive in God and the bible, it says that whoever beleives in him shall have eternal life. So therefore I say yes.
However, I guess the question is what if you beleive in God your whole life and then die and discover that all that you beleived in was wrong..
I guess at least you have good morals

Yes, the bible clearly states in Revelation 14:1 that only a chosen 144,000 will be going to heaven to rule as kings and priest with Jesus and his father. Revelation 14 states, "And I saw, and look! the mount zion, and with him stood a hundred and forty four thousand having his name and the name of his father written on their foreheads." If you are one of these chosen, trust me, you will know as assurably as you know your own name...
However, the rest of us will be living on a paradise earth, which was God's origional purpose for humans. It says so at Psalms 37:11, "But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
Also, it states in Psalms 37: 29: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it."
So, the bible is pretty clear in this regard...

I do not believe a person can know where they are going to go after they die. They may believe they are going to heaven, but they will not know until they get there or don't get there. I believe that we must all trust in God and believe that God will take care of us. God loves all of us very much. If we love him back then we can take comfort in his love. If we turn away from him then we will become unable to feel his love and we will exist in a sort of mini-hell state while on earth then when we die I believe the pain we experience due to our seperation from God will be far greater than we can imagine. However, if we trust in and love God, walk in his ways and teach his word then our life on earth will be peaceful even if we are persecuted for our love of God, his love will continue to surround and comfort us. Whether or not this will qualify us for heaven is uncertain. I do not believe that there is necessarily two distinct places but I understand the afterlife as more of a spectrum with heaven and hell as the two extremes. But none of us know for sure until it is too late to change our ways so we best strive to show God's love in all we do and trust that he will care for us.

How could you know. It's God's decision whether you are going to go to hell or heaven. You have to agree with his ruling.
Everyone thinks he/she is good enough to go to heaven. But in the eyes of God is that really true?

I don't think any of us knows with any certainty what will happen after we die. I do believe that there is an after-life and higher power. I don't know about heaven or hell but I was raised catholic and I believe it must be a fear thing. The thought of burning for eternity did scare me as a child. I worked for a medium as a teenager and also have friends and have read up on other religions. I have had some experiences that lead me to believe in an after-life but beyond that i'm pretty open-minded as I have seen no proof nor disproof that any particular religion is right or wrong. Can a person know? I don't think we can even know for sure if there really is a heaven or hell.

How can someone know what has God decided for us?
Depending on our sins, it will be decided if we will go to hell or heaven. Who knows, there cud be no such thing as hell and heaven ;)
Its all the story that we have heard from parents right?
Once u reach hell/heaven, in case u have acces to computers and internet connection, do let us know how things are at ur end ;)
Just kidding ;) Dont take it serious buddy!
God bless u! Stay good to urself and to others... u will reach heaven!

I don't know. I never think about that. Lets first think first. Are heaven and hell really there? How can we be sure? None of us have ever gone there.

Some people would have an idea. They know that by following all of God's commandments, they will go to heaven. But many hate to even think about following commandments. They just want to think they'll be saved from hell, because Christ was Crucified to redeem the world, and that's all. They want to stop at that. They don't want to do good things anymore, so if you're really doing what is good and adhering to Christ's law, (not the law of Moses as what usually is thought of whenever the word law is mentioned)that is according to God's standards (not based on what humans think that is good), then we can hope for salvation in turn, we can hope to go to heaven. There are examples of those guys who will go to hell if they don't change their ways and follow Christ. Revelation 21:8

Hi topei12,
I just stumbled over your question, I have some thoughts to this, but I have responded earlier in "spoiled311"'s post: "When you die, do you know, where you are going?" - Pretty much the same question, sorry I didn't find yours first, as you posted your's first, but that's not what's important anyway...
I just don't want to copy/paste my answer here (I would have to type it all over anyway, cause my rating doesn't allow me to paste yet)
My response to her question is response no. 13, take it as pasted into your post too...
...interesting question by the way :-)
cheers, Mike...

I think, if there was an "All loving god" Why would he send ANYONE to hell. That's kind of cruel for an all loving being.
