A while ago (probably more than a week) I posted that I had placed an "Assistant for hire" add, and I told you that I received an e-mail from someone who was interested. It was the only inquiry that I took seriously.
I received a number of other e-mails that appeared to be scams to me.
The one that looked to be legitimate, was not.
It was a guy claiming to own a auto repair shop, looking for an assistant or administrator.
We exchanged a few e-mails and I started becoming suspicious by the second e-mail he sent.
The final e-mail that he sent asked if I had "a picture". My reply was "Give me a freakin' break!"
I havent' heard from him since. lol
In the meantime I was apply to jobs adds, as well.
I received a phone call last week, in response to one of my inquiries. I was asked to come in for an interview last Thursday. During the interview, he asked me to submit my references, I e-mailed them to him that day. I also called my references to make sure they were expecting the call.
That day on of my references called me back to let me know that he had called. The next day, another one let me know he called as well.
On Wednesday, he called me and offered me the job.
I started Yesterday (Friday).
So far, so good.
It' completely different than the last job.
Nothing to do with real estate.
But, it's still something I can relate to and enjoy.
I am the assistant to the Youth Activites Dept. Director. of a Temple.
Since I've been extremely involved with my children and their activies since they were little, I can easily relate to coordinating events for children and teens.

He seems to think a bit like I do and I think most of the things won't require a lot of training. The things that do require training, I think he will be okay with helping me.
The hours are while my children are in school. Only 15 hrs per week, but it's withing the hours I was looking for, so that's good.

Fantastic. And it isn't too far from home I hope. If your area is like mine, traffic can be madding.

Hi ma'am, just wanted to ask your help in getting work in California.
Do you know of any companies who hire foreigners and help them get greencards?
Thank you in advance.
Congratulations also on your new endeavor

I'm in Florida, not California. I don't know the answers to your question.

Well done sweety - that sounds like a great job to have! I have been involved in my daughters primary school for 10 years already as my son went there too and I have another 5 years before my daughter leaves! I think it is great when parents are involved in schools or youth groups as they are more up to date with what is going on with kids in general and more likely to spot any problems with their own kids!
I do hope that you have a great time with your new job - have fun with it sweety! xxx

Congrats on your new job! It sounds like an awesome job. Sounds better than the last job that you had. Things tend to work out in ways we never understand at the moment, but it sounds like you are where you are supposed to be at now.
