if you are really into designing and editing videos. i suggest that you use machintosh. its good when it comes to designing and presentation.of course you should choose the one that has big memory to support your programs in designing. i am using mac tiger and it is really good.

correction, according to the Apple store, www.apple.com, the cheapest macbook can be had at $1099. what's more is that they do have refurbished stuff! i just looked at one, priced at $949. it's really, really, really worth it. the refurbs are below, at the apple store's bottom right widgets area..

Hmmm... Interesting. Is it the titanium thing? He claims that it's worth $2000. But hey, you have given me hope. Thank you.

i prefer sony vaio or HP Pavilion HDX series. You can also try dell with costume configuration. But for your requirements i suggest lenovo (IBM) or Compaq Presario C500T series. all costs less than $500.

Oh no. A lot of people do not recommend Compaq. So many problems with things coming off. I still go for mac. other options, by order of preference: Toshiba, Dell (the ones that have been used by corporations then sold after the lease are pretty good, according to my friend), Asus, Acer, Lenovo. Toshiba has been known to be very durable. I also have Asus on the list because some Macbook parts are actually Asus...

I personally like Dell. I have the XPS M1210 model which last year when I bought it cost about $1200. I also have an IBM Thinkpad that was given to me by a friend and works pretty well too - I just bought a wireless card for it and it's good to go. I know people who have had HP desktops and always seemed to like them so I'm assuming that an HP laptop would be a good choice. Some of the accessories you are looking for may come together in a package deal with the computer and some you may have to buy separate. Dell sometimes runs some good sales and sometimes offer coupons and/or deals if you open a credit card, etc. Check out Dell.com

Okay seems like most laptops are up to speed with what you need. Heres some that are around $400 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2030260032+4020&name=%24400+-+%24500 And here are some that are $500-750 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2030260032+4021&name=%24500+-+%24750 Be sure to review which ever one you want to buy thoroughly. Go to computer forums and sites to compare multiple views on it. If you get a consistent good rating then its probably okay, if not, you may want to revise what you want.
