Silent Hill: What is it that makes them scary??

to me the sudden shocking moments like an unexpected monsters appears in front of you out of nowhere, the thrill of being chased and of course wandering alone in a spooky dark creepy environments that you don't know what will happen that plays with your psychology that will always makes you alert even then slightest sounds will bring you to chill since you don't know what to expect and what the outcome is. Don't know what to expect is what a scare is all about.

i really don't know why but this game is the only game that can make my hair stand like crazy. i have played a lot of horror and violent games, but this one is the best. haha. well i guess its because of its sound and the over all ambiance of the scene. i also love the game because it not just scares, but challenges you too with each puzzles. hehe! :)

definitely the looks (the old womens face), the art (demonic looks), the environment (thick mist, hospitals,spooky places), the gore (the blood.. its everywhere), the effects, the sounds (specially that cry baby or whispering). whew, silent hill rocks.
