Are men promiscuous? Is it just a machismo thing?

Both genders have polygamous tendencies. People themselves are able to counter it, or they accept it and make it a lifestyle.

Men and women can be promiscuous. There are many reasons someone may choose to not be in a one on one committed relationship. If they're honest in their relationships, safe in their practices, and it works for them, it's really no one else's concern.

What if you guy is involved in this, that he is having an affair with another woman, wouldn't that be a concern to you?

That would not be in keeping with the being honest in your relationship requirement I stated. My partner has chosen to be committed to me, if he doesn't feel that works for him anymore then he should break up with me or at least tell me before acting on those feelings.

Indeed. Fair response. I'd add as long as they don't hurt other people then yes, completely fine, and when all is said and done its their business only.

I think that both men and women can be promiscuous. It seems like it's an individual thing where the person may not be ready for commitment. I can only imagine the thousands of other reasons why people chose to be promiscuous. Let's just hope that promiscuity goes hand in hand with promiscuity so no one gets hurt!
