Driving Speed?

What is the fastest speed you have ever driven your car. Not just short drag racing speed but on the highway? My fastest was 185 kilometer per hour (115 mph) on the German autobahn. It did not even feel fast. It was when I had my beloved BMW. Sometime here in the States I really have to hold myself back from the temptation of just flooring it.

No offense but I think speeding is really stupid. The fastest I have ever gone was probably 85 mph, and I'm not proud of that. I hate people who feel the need to speed. They only look like idiots.

No to mention that they are endangering the safety of others.

I used to be a bit of a leadfoot in my younger days or a hoon as we call them. I am an excellent driver and had a good car which was kept maintained in great condition. I only do between 120/40 now on the straight stretches near home...no traffic. I only do it when I'm on my own...if I have a passenger or Lucy, my constant, canine companion, I behave.
I don't think I've even driven at length over 140kph.

You better watch it Heather, I don't want to see you get any tickets, that was really fast, I wouldn't do it. Have you ever been to California, well, I think that is the speed limit they drive, I wouldn't dare ride up and down the streets in California, they will run you over, I think you could handle it though, Not me!

The only time I have ever gone over the speed limit was when I had gotten a call that my husband had been in a car accident and was in the hospital, and even than it was 75 in a 55 mph zone. I don't like driving fast, never have it scares me to much, unless my mind is on other things.

Girl! If I were in that car with you, I'd be screaming scared!! LOL I'd be in the floor board praying and screaming for my dear life! LOL No really, the fastest I think I've ever been in and IN meaning someone else was driving, was 100 miles per hour. Too fast for me because anything can happen at that speed. Sudden wind gust or a blow out just to name a couple. IKES!!

Jeez, 115 mph! You're a regular Mario Andretti. I'm worse that the little ole lady that only drives on Sundays. In fact the little 80 year old ladies with blue hair usually pass me. LOL. The fastest I've ever gone was around 85 mph and I didn't have any idea I was going so fast. It was on a stretch of smooth new interstate in central Pennsylvania and I was cruising along thinking I was doing about 55. When I glanzed at the speedometer, I screamed. I couldn't believe I was going that fast but it just felt right on that road.

I have driven at 120kph. This was in the outback many years ago when I was working there. The roads are straight & flat.
I don't drive at that speed any more. It is just too dangerous., If one has an accident at that speed the likelihood is that you will be killed.
When overtaking it may be necesaasry to reach 120, but even now I avoid that at all costs.

I guess I am just a big chicken! I don't like going really fast because I start getting visual images of what a wreck might look like if I wrecked at that speed! (I suppose from seeing too many trauma victims in my career!) I looked down once while driving on an interstate and I had crept up to about 80 mph and I quickly lowered my speed! Yup, I am a big chicken!

Goodness, I don't think I'd survive the autobahn! I've heard so much about it thru the years. You are a brave one! Once I had to chase my neice who had stolen my son's car and we tracked her and her b'friend down. I know I was doing at times over 100 mph, I think once I looked down and it was over the 100 and I purposely slowed it down b/c I became very afraid for crashing as I had my 2 kids in the car with me, and it just wasn't worth it. We did get the car back that day though and all is well. I will say this, prayer works. We started praying that God would stop that car, and in an instant they were in the ditch!

75 MPH. Yea, stellar isn't it. -_- I really can't speed unless I'm at a raceway and I'm not putting everyone else in danger.
