Normally AVG perform well. the worm come once more means either it stays in your computer in other names or its comes from other computer from your network. i cannot give you any specific suggestion better you search in internet for the specific problem or try some other anti virus such as kaspersky.

if it is from network means you cannot detect with anti virus as each time antivirus find the virus it automatically deletes so after that you cannot find that virus. The disconnection of the network cable wont work because one you connect back it will come back. what you can try is to change your IP address and enable network security after that you should disable your administrator account or protect it with very strong password, disable all your guest account and create uncommon passwords for all user accounts, hopefully this will rectify your problem

Use Antivir you'll get some better success and detections with it. As always be sure to safeguard your important stuff in case the worse happens.
