I don't think there should be a difference between ladies and gentlemen breaking a date. Either a lady or a gentleman does not break a a date unless it is for an unforseen event.

Thank you Linda. I'm glad I'm not the one who has to say it first.

I disagree.
Many still exist. Here's the problem. Everyone else (especially women) got ultracritical.
Do you really think they'll stand for that!? No way!

Yes for me. For me a real gentleman wont spoil a date just because he finds it boring or the girl not interesting. For me a real gentleman, makes everything at his best to make that date special, no matter what. If he really doesn't like the girl, then he could simply not invite her again for another date... :)

yeah, definitely. no guy should ever cancel a date unless there's an emergency or something unavoidable occurs suddenly. actually it doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl. when you've made plans with someone, it's not nice to cancel it. Unfortunately, insensitive people are everywhere and they are unaware of and don't even care about you or your feelings. T_T

The only reason I would is because of work or an emergency (both family and work related emergencies can spring up).
But now I've got this question. A true lady never breaks a date with a gentleman? I'd say false. I've seen it and I've read about plenty of instances of women breaking dates with guys. It happens. Some people are wising up though. For instance in my rulebook, its a 1 strike and you're out rule.

True! I would even say that every real man brakes a date with a lady for no good reason. This kind of stuff is so unmanly:/ But on the other han a lady must stay a lady, if you know what I mean. Don't expect to be respected by others if you don't respect yourself.

Yet I've seen (and have been through) supposed ladies breaking their dates with guys. I've even seen and heard some people justifying it as a part of dating and guys just have to deal with it. But if a guy tries it, even with an excellent reason, he's really a scumbag. -_-

I agree. When I first read the title I thought to myself well unless there was an emergency, but then I saw you had already said that, so yes I would say I have to agree with you. I hate when guys do that! It is so rude!
