George Clooney's Medical Records

I see that some hospital employees were suspended for peeking at George Clooney's medical records. I worked in hospital records years ago. I even had to handle confidential patient records. I studied medical records and at one time was a department head. What those people did was completely unethical. If they had been my employees they would have been fired. We live in a society that loves to get the latest, juciest news on anyone famous or not. Some one has to stop this. What do you think?

I think you're absolutely right and couldn't be said any better, plain and simple. It's really no wonder why in our society we are held up in not trusting anyone anymore. Too bad really. Take Care.

Yup! As someone who once ran a medical record department I am outraged. I frequently had to do confidential records and refused to let others know anything. It really irritates me. Then again it is our own fault because we have become so hungry for all the news on everything or person, good or bad.

He does now. I know a lot of people get paid big bucks for gossip and pix of celebs but that is way out of bounds as far as I am concerned.

If those were my medical records, I'd be hollering for them to be fired...

Exactly. Leagally those records are hospital property. Many people think they are the patient's but they are not.Even at our sickest, worst days we have the right to privacy. Even if we are famous. Thanks
