New Yahoo Mail

Well, I woke this morning to find Yahoo has released a new Yahoo mail system. You don't have to switch but I thought I would try it out as it does say you can switch back to the classic version if you want.
There are a few things I really like about it: drag and drop feature, preview messages, and calendar links at bottom. It's very much like Outlook express.
What I don't like is with the Yahoo ads it is rather cumbersome, as I tend to be doing 50 things at one time most of the time I had many of my emails such as myLot notifications automatically sorted into special folders and this feature didn't transfer over - when I have free time I'll have to see if I can set these up again.
So, how about you? Do you use Yahoo mail? Have you switched to the new version? What are your feelings about it?

Good Morning,
I tried to use it when it first came out and found it very cumbersome and not the easiest to move around, although I must admit it does look very familiar to Outlook Express until they get all the bugs out of it I am going to continue using the ole Yahoo Mail.
Good to see you again, my friend, I hope all is well with you, you have been missed!

Good to see you also - it's been a crazy summer and doesn't seem to be letting up. Am starting a new business in partnership with my ex-husband and although he's putting up the money (great great help) I am doing most of the 'work'. Not complaining just very busy...
I think I may go back to the classic mail - this is just too much of a confusing mess for me to deal with right now. Everything is going into my inbox and I get too much mail to have to sort them all out.

That is wonderful about the new business, I wish you all the success ... yeah, I like the ole yahoo mail too, don't be such a stranger, it is always nice to see you.
Be well, my friend!

Thank you, I am a little nervous about the business as at this point 'we're not making money' but know it's going to take time. Online promotion, local promotion, and getting our stock built up. I'm still getting bugs out of the web site, online store, and blog but am hoping in the next week to be up and rock & rolling online at least.
I am going to do my best to pop into myLot at least for a few minutes daily - with cooler weather this will be easier as I'm not out doing yard work now :)

Yea I switched back to the old already thinking the same thing - when I have more time to get familure with the new I may like it better just not up to the change right now.

LOL - sounds like most people prefer the old version but several seem to think eventually we won't have a choice. I'm sticking with the old for now - just so much easier for me, less complicated.

Hello faith,Yes i have tried the new verson and its ok,but im a stickler for the old ways but i change ever now and then trying to get use to it....I always use yahoo mail..i had dial-up for so long but i finally got high speed, but since i live in a rural area i had to get a satilite dish, its called "Wild Blue" and now its much better for me.I just was so impatient with dial-up...So i will go back and forth until i decide which version i like the best...

Oh I remember those days of dial-up We have cable where I live now and I am spoiled rotten - it's amazing how much faster this is than the dial-up. Maybe down the road I'll go back and try the new Yahoo but it's just too much for me right now - like you most times I like the old ways :)

i tried that new yahoo mail system but it didn't work good for me, i like the old version better where we can really see and manage the messages well. drag and drop feature is good but i don't need it most of the time so i switch back to the original version cause i like it better.

Most of these mailing sites are changing the look and feel as the competition is getting tough for them. Hotmail and yahoo have changed their looks and more will follow.

Yes, I also have a hotmail account and noticed they changed not too long ago, I prefer Yahoo though and seldom use my hotmail account.

LOL 'stranger' yea I haven't been around much between moving, summer, grandkids, kid (16 year olds problems) and new business it's been crazy. Let me know what you think of the new mail service - at first I thought maybe it was just me but really was annoying and seemed time consuming for me.

I started using it a few days ago. I dont know if I like it. It takes a while to load my messages. And then its like annoying going through them. I think I shall switch back soon as I you know figure out how. :/ no way gonna keep much longer

LOL - your doing better than me, I switched back to the classic in less than 2 hours for the same reason you said, longer to load messages and just plain annoying.

dear faith I use Outlook Express to organise my mails in my pc and I like divinding my mails into different folders depending on the source. It is the way I organise my mail, too. I am not very familiar with yahoo mail..even though I am using a yahoo address, too.

I used to use Outlook all the time but since the move I don't have 'regular' email account so using the Yahoo. I am a 'folders' person though :) I have a folder for everything - both mail and other things.

Hi joyce great to see you also - I'm actually spending the day trying to 'touch base' with all my friends on myLot today - we'll see how far I get.
Right now wasting time waiting for batteries to charge up on digital camera as I have several pictures to take - new products we're adding to our online store, new business of which I'm accountant, web master, and 'feature' artist - lol I love arts and crafts and am praying to actually make a living at it.

I use Yahoo mail, and haven't tried the new version. Let me know how it goes and I may switch to it. I do have a few folders set up, which reminds me I need to do that with My Lot ones.

Well, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would and have already switched back to the old version...
I have 2 folders set up for myLot; one is for new discussions from my friends and the other is for responses. It really helps me keep up with what's going on and although I haven't been active sort my friend's discussions by subject and delete the older ones keeping the most recent from each 'friend' that way when I do get time for myLot I do my best to respond to at least one discussion from each friend.

I am so glad I came upon this discussion. I have both yahoo and hotmail, but only remember the new hotmail and how I hated that and went back.
My sister has yahoo, but she had to get another one because she didn't have computer access and lost the account. So when she got a new computer, she saw that yahoo had a new version and said she didn't like it. I told her I couldn't remember, but when I saw your screen shot, I remember now.. No way, I went back, I didn't like that one any better than the hotmail..
So did you stay with it, or go back?

LOL I went back within a few hours of posting this discussion - I multi-task and it was just way too time consuming for me to keep up with everything I do. I prefer the old and as long as they let me keep it I'm going to.
I also don't care for the new hotmail.

Yeah, I do a lot of multi-tasking myself, so the new versions were not helpful..:)

Yes, Yahoo does have some glitches from time to time but I've had a mail account with them for 10 years and right now it does work great for me using the free account.

I do not like the beta version of yahoo mail. I switched back to my original. It was not what I expected it to be. I thought it would be better then the original but it was not even as good in my opinion.

I use the new Yahoo mail. I get a whole lot of spam, in fact most of my mail there is spam, so I can put it all in alphabetical order and delete easier. I like the calender links, although I do nt use it that much. I use gmail for my myLot notifications, but had to remove that as I did not have time to do that. I am thinking of going to mylot and check things on the site, instead of my email. It is much easier.

this yahoo mail system has been over a year available already and it is still in beta version.i wonder why is that?i find nice to use but a bit slower than the classic one which i used to use even now because its much faster than the new version.
