Now, over the past couple of years I have been paying more and more attention to this. It seems that there are many misconceptions about how women are treated in different countires. So I would like you to share what country you are from and how you view women as being treated (I said view so yes men can respond to this too)

It seems like women get more respect in the U.S. now than 30 or so years ago, but there's a long way to go. Many countries are ahead of this one in electing women to run them. This is not an "elect Hillary" statement, but the fact that her gender is one of the main topics of discussion regarding her campaign makes this look like a pretty backward country.

very true indeed. I made notice that in an islamic country they have had a woman prime minister, but the women here in the us are suposed to be more "liberated" or what ever, but then we see how that one really is, huh?

i come from china, i think in my country women have already get the same place of men now. generally speaking, there are no discrimination between men and women. of course, things also have exception. i think no matter men or women, if they want to play a role in society, if they want to receive other people's respect, they should at first be honest, and have confident. gender can not determine anything.
in such a civilized world, everyone deserves the same treatment.
