Right now some of my neighbors are standing out in the street screaming and yelling. I hate this. I feel as though they are invading my personal space. They are driving me crazy and I'm about to call the police on them for the second time tonight. Do noisy neighbors bother you?

I don't have that problem anymore, although I used to. We used to live next door to some pretty heavy drinkers some years back. We got woke up at 5am one morning when two of them were beating the crap out of each other in our front yard, and slamming each other up against our house. We moved shortly there after.

I don't blame you for moving! I haven't had this problem in a long time. But there are some new people a couple of houses up from me and if this is what I have to look forward to then we are going to have problems! I just called the police again. Man, it's 11PM! This is ridiculous!

Its bothersome to me as well. I like fresh air in the house so I leave the front windows open, and my neighbor sees the lights inside, and comes right over! The other night he came over here at 11:30 pm! I was laying on the couch on the phone and there he was! I was kind of embarassed because I wasn't even presentable. Plus, his kids look in my windows all the time! The other day I spent the night out with a girlfriend of mind, and when I came home in the morning he drilled me about where I had been, as if he is my husband and its his place to worry about it!

You know, I think it's time you got some of those black-out screens. They let you look out and they let the air in, but people can't see inside. You can buy the screen material in roles and just use your old screen frames. If I were you I'd make a trip to Home Depot and get me some of that. Your neighbors need to get a firm message about whose life you are living. Sheesh!

My neighbors have it. At first, I didn't know what the heck it was - I just thought they were never home because I never saw any lights on in their house. LOL!

You hit the nail on the head. Respect! People who impose their noise on other people have no respect for other people.

Yes they do. I live in an apartment and I realize that there is going to be noise from other people, but the family that we have living below is us terrible. They drink every weekend and fight and call the cops on each other. We've complained to our landlord but he hasn't done anything. I either hope we can move out soon or they will decide to move out even sooner.

Oh man, that sounds like a nightmare. Unbelievable that your landlord hasn't done anything. I'd be banging on his door every time they started up.

My neighbours used to have brawls on the street when ever they were drinking (everynight). The police were not helpful so we complained to the land agents they rented from who in turn threatened their tenants with eviction. The other thing you can do is talkto the rest of your street and and if they can get a petition together t sort out your neighbours. You are entitled to you peace too. Our neighbours are really quiet now. They take their rowdiness elsewhere.

Excellent ideas. Thanks for the advice. Actually, there is a noise ordinance in our town and the police do come out and make them quieten down and even give them tickets sometimes. But you have to put up with the noise disturbing your peace for 30 minutes or so before you call the police, cause naturally you don't want to call if it's just going to be a short episode, then you have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for the police to get here. By that time, my night is pretty much shot - the small amount of free time I have to read or watch TV is over and ruined. And if they do it in the middle of the night when I'm trying to sleep - well, that ruins the next day as well.

I live in the country and don't have any really close neighbors. The only thing that bothers me is sometimes the kids up the road will ride their four wheelers or motor bikes down to our mailbox and turn around and they are quite noisy. So when they do I just stay in the house. They are just kids, and I know they have to do something. I feel sorry for you people who have to put up with people fighting and arguing all the time.

You know, that may be one of my big problems. I lived in the country for about 10 years and got used to the wonderful peace and quiet. Funny, I had the same problems with the neighbors kids and just hated it. But, like you, I never said anything about it - partly for the same reasons, mostly because I just didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings or cause any trouble.

I know how you feel. People like that are rude, inconsiderate and selfish.

I wish I could be more like you. It's no fun being angry or upset. I'm working on it.

I like all kinds of music. But I don't like sitting in my living room being forced to listen to someone else's music.

yes, noisy neighbors suck, in fact I'm currently looking for 10 to 20 acres in the country to get away from it all.

We live in the country, so we don't have a lot of neighbors to worry about. Usually they're fine, but the ones across the road like to have parties on the weekends. It bothers me when there are people coming and going at all hours of the night. They rev their engines and beep their horns. The thing that bothers me is most of them know us too and they know we have kids.

Yes,they do. One of my neighbors grow fighting chickens in his backyard and it's so annoying hearing their cry very early in the morning and when they are about to be fed. When somebody calls me, they think I'm growing them in my backyard. lol Another neighbor, whenever he listens to music, the sound is so loud and I hate it as sometimes I'm writing articles for the web and I can't concentrate. My sister who studies nursing also studies at night so it's a big disturbance.

Our neighbor must be half deaf because we can always hear his television. Usually we can just ignore it if we are awake, we turn on music or television and block it out. However when we want to sleep and it is still loud, it is rather annoying. When I can pick out which commerical is on there is a serious noise problem. We never complain though because sometimes we may be loud as well. (Well my boyfriend is loud.) heh
