Ok I have been stuck in the 400's since sometimes last month, dispite the fact I have posted quite a few discussions. I always make sure to rate every response and every discussion I am involved with.
Do you still rate discussions? Does this happen to you?
What can we do to change this?
Need some help mylot!

I am still stuck the same as you. I rate other's discussions, but I am afraid that some have misinterpreted the rating system as to "if the post is good enough or superb enough, I will rate it plus, but if I do not agree with it, I will leave it alone because I, being a good person and want everyone to like me, do not want to rate negative."
So everyone out there, if you read a post and respond, rate plus even if the writer does not use the profound statements, knowledge, or is unable to express himself or herself in the manner you consider of superior intelligence.

I agree suspenseful I always rate no matter what the person's spelling or text might be,even if I don't agree I give the a plus because they are voicing their opioion,I only rate a minus if someone is being very rude or attacking someone else.

I know just what you're talking about. I don't know what's going on with the whole points system, but it seems like I don't get any more points no matter how many discussions I start or answer. I rate other people's discussions when I answer them and sometimes I rate other peoples' answers to someone else's discussion. I don't know what is going on with the points, but I don't think they're working properly.

Ok, the only thing that changes your '400' is responding to other people's discussions. Ratings don't effect that number and posting new discussions doesn't change that. Only way to increase that is to respond to discussions that don't get deleted - if that happens then your count will drop back down.
Rating discussions effects the person who's discussion gets rated. If all of your friend's give your discussions + ratings then your star and percentage rating will increase.

Forgot to add - yes, I do rate discussions that I respond to and also rate responses to my discussions.

LOL - just noticed we have the same star and the same percentage rating 98/100 For ages I wondered if anyone ever got a 100/100 rating and the other day I noticed that one of my other friends actually has that - she's sure doing something right here on myLot :)

Part of the problem is that a lot of discussions are getting deleted. I am taking a hit of two or three discussions that I have responded to per day. There are certain types of discussions that I will no longer respond to because I know that they are sure to get deleted. So my number goes down a couple everyday, hence my having to rebuild it back up before I can start to gain new ground.

Well I have never had a post deleted or any responses I have made have never been to a possible deletion post and haven't seen a response been deleted because the post was so I am not sure what is going on.

Yes, I still rate, depending on the discussion. But ratings have nothing to do with your posts or payout, just what others think of you. It is strange though, to see someone with that many posts and no rating on them, and I would never have noticed if you didn't point it out, so I wouldn't worry about it..

I have been stuck at 430-440 for well over a month that's what I'm talking about I'm not talking about the ratting of the star. I know I have posted way more than 440 posts,so why am I still stuck there?

Wow, that's really odd. Hmm... maybe it's because you posted your own discussion andreplying in you discussion doesn't count as well as replying someone who commented your post. If it's not it i think you should contact with admin because that never happened to me:/

I do not always do this, and not sure how it would help our Rating here anyway except for maybe our Star level is all I would think.
And when you start a New discussion, your Rating goes up by one when someone first responds to that discussion, but then your rating stays the same even if everyone Rates your Discussion as a plus.
The way to increase your Rating on here, is also by going and responding to discussions like I have here, and then you will see your Rating increase. Hope this helps answer some questions.

I do, but, I'm sure that there are a lot of people who don't. I wish they would too, it would be a lot better for all of us. I guess people just don't realize that, or are just too lazy. I have to admit though that I have to get to my unresolved discussions one of these days.

i dont think anyone really here care to rate the discussions, well i think this question is secondary some even not care to answer or more appropriately i can say have time to show gratitude for the respoonses they get for their discussions. even then such people on mylot are making good earnings, while people like u and me who read each response, tags discussions and rate discussions are hardly making a few cents in a day, i now personally feel its just wastage of time, although i still dont forget to waste my time in rating, tagging and expressing my thanks for the response i get for my posts.

Well I do hope more people decide to change that.
I always make sure to rate, and respond to almost all of my responses,it might not be easy but it is worth it to me,I really enjoy the discussions here, and the money is ok,but I am here more for friends, because i make money on other sites, besides here.

Confused = Me.
Are you talking about the number in the () by your name. Like right now it's (440)? or mine is something like (2049)?
I've always been under the impression that every post that you respond to (every new post, not second on third response or response to someone elses response but including news discussions that you post to) increase your number.
like... say your number is (1030) and you respond to 20 new discussions. Your number will then be (1050).
Say your number is (1050) and you start your own discussion. the first or second person who responds to your discussion will make your number go up to (1051).
So the fact that you're stuck in the 400's means that you don't respond to many peoples discussions.

I had forgotten all about rating but now I have rated you. I'm not quite sure what that means. I gave you a plus rating so does this mean you get more pay or what? There is so much to learn that I tend to lose some of it along the way.

Lol to be honest I'm not completely sure what it all means,I do know when you rate or get rated,it gives you a star with a XX/100 type thing, the better your rating is the more people will respond to your discussions.

I didn't realize there was so many posts on this topic, next time I will research it more.

I usually have the pattern of hitting the + sign on good discussions before I even respond. Otherwise I would forget! Does rating affect your count? I didn't realize that so I wouldn't know if it's happened to me or not.
They should combine responding and rating so you could do both at once :)

Well I found out that rating doesn't change your number only the one with the star, but I do the same thing,I rate before responding as well becuase i know I will forget, and I try hard to rate everyone as I wouyld like people to do with me.

I rate everyone that responds to my discussions. I think that it seems like things are slowing down on this site compared to when I first joined. Alot of new members don't know that they are suppose to rate. I know it took me awhile before I realized it. I know it is in the faqs, but not many people read all of the rules.

Yes, I rate discussions, that is the only way I have to track which one's that I have already responded. It would be too difficult for me to keep track of these just by memory.

Yeah I rated you..... Ratings are really not important! I always say exactly what I think,(never try to please anyone) and have been downrated before. It doesn't bother me a bit.
so I don't care one way or the other. But I always rate every discussion anyway because I know that most people are stuck on Ratings. God Bless
